The best part was when the lights went dim so it was harder for my parents to see me sleeping...

Dramas
by In_between_days inone of the funniest things i will ever remember as a jw are the "big dramas" at the assemblys.
it was amazing how everyone would sit through the torture of the infinate talks and "skits" with an incredibly bored look on their faces, yet when the drama got closer, the apathetic faces piped up, became animated, excited.
it was, as far as i could see the "best of the worst" piece of the programme, and by god, even though i spent almost the entire time at the assemblies outside feeding ducks, i was always in one of the front rows for the drama.

Remember in the movie "The Matrix" the first program created, the world was a perfect utopian society. The problem was the "slaves" were dying too fast....

Does Everyone Leave For The Most Noble Of Reasons?
by Englishman in.
some of us left simply because we didn't believe it any more.. some us couldn't stand the hypocrisy.. some of us left so's to have more sex.
some of us saw another light shining brighter.. some of us wanted more material possessions.. some of us needed more control over others than the borg would allow.. what do you think?.

An elder to me after buying a 4X4: Is that a proper field service car? And how will an older sister get in?
My Dad to me at age 14: Son just think you might not get to drive? (I'm 31 now)
An Elder to his son who was a friend of mine: You can't buy the skateboard because you could get hurt and not be able to aux. pioneer this summer
My Dad to me at age 14: Son our spiritual armor needs adjustment, so we are teaching you at home
Every year after the DC I would hear this: From now on we will wake up every morning 15 minutes earlier to do the text (This always lasted about 2 weeks)

I went through a couple of years of skirting the subject. My family would always try in some way work Jehovah in every conversation we had. I would ask, especially my mom, not to talk about the subject. But JW's are well trained and will bring it up everytime. I finally exploded one day and said how I felt about the religion and it didn't sit well with the parents as you could imagine. I haven't talked to my parents scince that day. My wife works with my sister overheard how they have been trying to work this problem out. I don't know how because I haven't heard from them in over a year.
The biggest help for me has come from my wife. She has made sure that her family( who are Catholic ) shower me with extra family love. Be strong and know there are many, many others going through this horrible problem. We all can support each other and hope that maybe this will change...

I WENT TO THE MEETING LAST NIGHT!!
by Mary inwell, we had the co visit last night and some friends "encouraged" me to go.
i really didn't feel like it, but i wanted to see if there was any "new light" on the pedophile problem, so i went.
not a word mentioned about any internal problems; however, the borg now apparently wants us to dupe people into having a bible study without even knowing it.

I hate when the CO would go overtime. Especially on Sunday morning during football season....
The NFL or Bible crap which would I prefer....

The only thing I looked forward to at the District Convention was leaving for lunch to the mall and "cruising" for some helpless ripe elders daughter

I was born into the Jdubs but never had a good rep. I was reproved 4 times before I decided to stop going. The first time was for drinking at age 16. The second was for knowing about sex and drugs going around amongst some of the youth. The third was for partying all night with an elders visiting niece, no sex involved. The last was for having sex with a girl in the cong. The funny thing was I never really showed any repentence, they just wouldn't DF me. Maybe it was because I had so much dirt on so many people. I was always known as one you could party with and I would never tell...

I love to see former associations
by Austrian ini was at the mall last night and my wife and i ran into two jw girls i used to know.
i called out her name and she was very nice but i couldn't resist to mention something to her about her husband.
one night about three years ago my wife and i were out having fun when i saw from a distance two old jw friends, one of which was this girls husband.

The biggest problems I had with the organization were shunning and the new light crap. I was raised during the time when secular school was wrong. My parents decided to home school me which scared me for a long time. Ofcoarse the thought of me going to college was out of the question. Thank God I have always had a strong will and I pretty much like to question everything. The thing that really drove me away was shunning. I was never DF and after being inactive for a year I started going back to the meetings. My original congregation every sat afternoon played football. I myself played every sat during the season for 8 years. I showed up on sat thinking that scince I was making an effort to get back into the organization that "good association" would help me. When I got to the park an elder told me I couldn't play and when I asked why he said it was because I don't attend meetings. I then told him I was attending another cong. closer to my home. He then told me I had to get a letter from an elder from that cong. saying I could play. This was an elder that I would have beers with way before I was legal age to drink. The worst part was that no one of my so called friends stood up for me at that moment. The only thing they did was give me bad looks and made me feel embarrassed. But thank God they did cause from that point on I knew that they all lacked true Christian Love!! By the way one of the "friends" that shunned me was the husband of the girl I saw later buying cigars.

Thanks for the forum and I look forward to posting more thoughts...
