Hugs to you all for the heartrending lack of support. Francios said it well when one looks at the uneducated blind guides we had. My worst encouragement? There were so many that I can only read yours tonight.

What's The Worst "Encouragement" That You've Recieved From The Brothers?
by minimus inafter reading nina and sadie's experience, i couldn't help but appreciate hearing how the brothers are always trying to "encourage" ones.
how did they try to encourage you?

Remnants of JWism
by berylblue infor me, i don't have "remnants".
i am still, i realize, about 90 percent jw.. however, i'm curious as to what other still have "left" from the org...for example, i am still politically neutral for the most part, and would not support any war and would rather die than take up arms.
this may be mostly my own pre-jw personality, but at this point in time, its so difficult to know what i am, even who i am..... do any of you still have (or maybe cling to, which may be true in my case) jw beliefs or tendencies, or have you gotten rid of them all?

The Crisis of conscience book is a must read for the strength it gives you. Bro. Franz was in a position of credability and lost a life while gaining one. Our hats off to him. I have always hated the phony holidays so leaving the JW's hasn't changed not celebrating. The unloving things that others mentioned here that the "friends" did to eachother are also a help in letting go. "I would never kick a dog when they were down", " a friend in need is a friend indeed". I never found true friendship with the JW's.

South Sea Island for a month with someone special. OR Motorhome the USA from the Niagra Falls through the caves in the Dacota's. Through some of the old western towns in Colorado and on to Las Vegas for fun, food and some good shows. California is badly damaged so I stop there.

Happy B-day Eppie. I know other JW's that have given their kids little parties. They called it a minor slip. Maybe you feel the need to make up for birthdays gone by. So what! Having a party or going to one is FUN molesting kids and hiding it is wrong in any group!

for those who are paranoid
by little witch inafter reading the posts about minimus, .
i feel inclined to say, people have different reasons for posting on this site.
if you are strong in your faith, or lack thereof, the posts of suspicion should be of no great concern to you.. that leaves those who are ''wondering'' or newly curious.

Some are very paranoid. One recognized our photo and e-mailed us a warning. As if we are afraid of a disfellowshiping. We asked what they were doing at this sight and the reply was inquiring but afraid.

Need some help on the blood issue
by TemeculaMole in.
i was having a discussion with my mom about the blood issue.
she asked me a good question which i did not have the answer for.. what was the purpose of the god saying to abstain or dont eat blood?

Thank you all for those good answers on the blood issue. Our family always had a problem with that issue. I have a daughter 33 who was in a severe car accident at 19. She broke her neck, elbow and had a hemotoma removed from her head. They said they may need to use blood but never did. We decided if needed, we would permit this because we were were not firm in the JW belief on that issue.

Quick Builds
by Gadget inhas any body any idea how good the workmanship is on quickbuilds?
normally if you get a group of people who don't know about building you get chaos.
i know a few years ago they were changed from 48hrs to 2weekend, something to do with not being able to lay the bricks fast enough, new legislation limiting how many courses could be done in a day.

Our family of four have been on 5 quickbuilds. They all turned out to code after some adjustments had been made. The worst one was Ft. Myers in the hot summer. Direction would be given and after half an hour ones would disappear and sleep in their car with the air on a block away and some right there at the sight. One hot grueling job in the hope for a blessing from Ja... as if we had to work our way to salvation! Quickbuilds were not fun. Picking fruit for the society on their free labor line wasn't fun either. We are glad not to be working our way to salvation and just be the good people we are.
Instead of keeping our eyes tunneled on the prize...lets look up and out and live the prize of life we now freely have in our grasp today!

Memorial Day Shame
by IslandWoman intoday is memorial day in the united states, a day when soldiers killed in war are honored.. those who served their country, died for their country, ......are remembered.
accolades, parades and flowers are all over the place but no money!!!!.
some soldiers qualify for food stamps, veterans are fearful of more cuts to their benefits.

Those poems are beautiful. My 9yr. old was in a parade with baton twirlers. I am glad we are Americans.

We Are The Other People
by Ravyn in16 then yahweh god gave the man this admonition, "you may eat indeed of all the trees in the garden.. 17 nevertheless of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat, for on the day you eat of it you shall most surely die.
you will not die!.
you will not die!

Ravyn, That was something else to read! Very interesting indeed. Thank you. When one leaves the org. we certainly are called all sorts of things. You make "the other people" not sound too bad.
