They did change their own rules to DF Ray Franz. Why wouldn't they do it to save their own child's ass? But anyhow, they don't have young kids, so who would know?

If the governing body members all had children, would they deny them blood?
by hubert inif they any of them had or have children that needed a blood transfusion to live, i wonder if they would deny their children blood and watch them die for the watchtower society?.
or would you see a quick change of doctrine?
ie: new light?.

My Prediction: If You Don't want To Be A Witness----You've Disassociated
by minimus ineventually, i believe that if an inactive person refuses to talk to elders, stops all meetings and service and might create any possible problem to the local congregation, that they might be loopholed into showing themselves as having "disassociating" themselves.
it would be an easy way to get rid of deadweights that can cause more harm than good in the congregation.

DFing inactive ones doesn't affect WT's numbers at all. Maybe Memorial attendance, but not any other numbers in the year report. That's why it can be so easy to get rid of them. They are not needed, but they may form a threat.

Tracking U.S. Growth through KMs
by TheListener into get about 30,000 people baptized during the service year the dubs need to dunk about 2,500 people a month.
i've been following their dunking numbers with the kms and they are about on, maybe a little low.
i've also noticed that the overall number of u.s. dubs isn't really increasing too much even with the new dunkees.

Why www.watchtower.org?
by PopeOfEruke injust was wondering today, why is the official jw website www.watchtower.org?
why not use the magic word "jehovah" in the website name?
why use the name of a single publication when jw's are supposed to be a "people for god's name"?

Try this adress http://www.jehovah.com/ They have commercialized the "Divine name".

by swyven ini'm not currently a jehovah's witness, although maybe i am (?).
my father was a devout jehovah's witness, and he intended on indoctrinating me in the faith as i grew up...however, my mother took me away from him when i was 4 years old, and i haven't been able to find him since (i contacted the main hq in new york, but he couldn't be found anywhere).
i have read numerous books and articles which i've got from the watchtower store, and have read this website, www.watchtower.org and been involved in the yahoo!

Judicial Committee transcripts...
by Tuesday inthis has probably been posted before but i can't seem to find it in the best of series or otherwise but i'm wondering if anyone has some good links to judicial committee transcripts online or otherwise?
i'm really looking for basic judicial committee meetings, the ones where the scriptual basis is in question is ok like jim rizoli's or anton from watchtower uk outreach but i'm really looking for just a run of the mill judiciary committee meeting (ie fornication, etc.
) any help is greatly appreciated.

Silly Quiz Question...
by Englishman inok, try this one.. michaelangelo's statue of david.
you know the one, somewhere in italy?
if you look closely, actually very closely, you'll notice something unusual about this statue.. david has got a very, very, tiny willy!.

Proportions in that statue are all wrong. Head and hands are of a grown-up man, but other parts are of a child. Michelangelo used two models?

Something previously mentioned http://rockymountainnews.com/drmn/local/article/0,1299,DRMN_15_3331908,00.html Man in shooting had concealed-gun permit By Brian D. Crecente, Rocky Mountain News November 16, 2004 A man who fatally shot an Aurora man and wounded the victim's wife during a fight about a damaged car door has a license to carry a concealed weapon, Aurora police said Monday. Aaron P. Davis, 39, and Benita Coleman-Davis, 36, were each shot twice in the torso, police spokeswoman Kathleen Walsh said. The gunman, Glen Eichstedt, 52, was treated for a head injury and released. Police were still investigating whether anyone would be charged in the shooting. About 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Eich-stedt and Davis got into an argument about a ding on the door of one of their vehicles, Walsh said. Coleman-Davis stood between the men, trying to stop the argument, but the three started fighting, witnesses told police. Davis found a metal pipe and hit Eichstedt in the head with it and then Eichstedt pulled out a gun and fired, Walsh said. Two shots hit Davis, and two hit his wife. Eichstedt has a concealed-weapons permit that he obtained in Denver, Walsh said. Denver police said they couldn't release any details about Eichstedt's permit.

Average Number Of Disfellowshippings Per Congregation Per Annum?
by Englishman ini've just been chatting with doug y****, a once upon a time stalwart of the local congregation.. he's recenly been disfellowshipped.
the usual reason, of course.
but he has shocked me with what he had to say.. he said that there have been between 100 and 150 disfellowshippings shared between the 2 local congregations since he became a member in 1966. there is a total membership of around 300 at present.

40 000 disfellowshipped annually. Ray Franz says in "Search" 1985-86 about 35-36 000 were df'd annually. It was a cipher given by WT. I read it a few days ago but don't remember exactly.
