i believe i finally found the perfect venue for me to picket, duluth ga, which is just outside of atlanta.the conventions there are the 2nd and 3rd weekend in august.
i know absolutley no one in georgia and there are no chances i could run into any family members there.
there are a couple of conventions before then in s.c. and johnson city tennessee, however for various reasons-monetary and otherwise i am choosing georgia.
Cowboy....I think you're only making it harder on yourself by picketing these people. Contention never solves anything and always makes the people involved very unhappy. Some day when you can learn to give it up, you'll find a huge weight lifted off your shoulders.

after doing the budget, mike and i could put a down payment on a house loan.
I would imagine you could build a dang nice house for 150k to 200k depending on the area and how smart you are with the money and building of the house. The only question would be, are you up to building it yourself? Are you going to hire contractors to do any of it? Do you know people who do a good job, yet work for cheap.
You should depending again on the area be able to make a phat profit if you decided to sell it too. But that depends on if you build it well. You've also got to take into account the government and the taxes, permits and hoops they're going to make you jump through. There is a lot more to this than you probably realize. It's definately a worthwhile venture. But do you have what it takes to make it work?

Or.....you could get a life and let them have theres..... Why must people feel the need to persecute those who believe differently than they do? What's wrong with letting other people be happy with their beliefs.
As a Mormon, everytime we have a general conference or any gathering, we always have protestors there with their hate signs, yelling hateful things and trying to cause as much havic as they can. Grow up people. Many of these same people went and picketed the Gay Pride parade a couple weeks ago as well. It just seems like you've always got to have someone to hate. You just can't let people live the life they want to live without trying to make it hard on them.

did you take it easy, judicially speaking, on those with congregation responsiblities?
were you extremely slow to remove anyone because no one wanted the additional work caused by a servant's absence?
i know of some pretty crappy, ok, really crappy and unscriptural things done by ms's and elders that definitely called for removal, but the elders quickly swept it under the rug.
As a JW, can you drink socially and still have it be acceptable?
does anyone have background information on this case?
it says the parents weren't granted a fair hearing before their child was administered blood.. but was the clock ticking and the transfusion urgently needed to save the baby?
if so, then the doctors and child welfare authorities did a great job and need to be congratulated rather than scolded for their lifesaving action.
This one is a hard one Gopher. I can see it from both sides. I find it very sad that the JW parents of a child would let their child die rather than administer to them some blood. But at the same time, there is an issue that I believe is more important and runs far deeper with me. I believe that we parents should have the right to make decisions for our children and not be pressured or forced into a decision by doctors or many others.
There was a case not too long ago that many of you probably heard about. A young boy was diagnosed with Cancer. The doctors told the parents that his chances of survival were very very minimal. Even still, the doctors wanted to give it a shot and put the kid through chemotheropy. The parents decided since the chances of him surviving were so small, they wanted to keep him at home and try to make the last little bit of his life the best ever. The doctors however would not allow this, and got a court order turning custody over to the hospital and doctors. The parents then took off with their kid and the doctors called the police. A warrant was then issued for the arrest of the parents for kidnapping their own child.
It's those types of things that scare me. To think that the government or anone could step in and take my child away from me is not right at all. I'm a good parent and want to raise my child the way I see fit, not the way others see fit.

I believe in the first ammendment right as well. I believe that you should have the right to voice your opinion and stand up for whatever you believe in, even if that belief is that women should have the right to have an abortion. I'm all for that, and would never want to stop someone from being able to voice their opinion or vote the way they believe. I believe everyone should vote the way they believe. I believe our laws should represent the beliefs and morals of the people. If we turn out to be a society that has no morals, then let our laws represent that and we'll face the consequences together.
I'm very active in politics and religion. I'm working for the next governor of Utah, Jon Huntsman Jr. He's running for governor and has the best chance of winning. My job was to place signs all around Salt Lake City for the primary election. I had a guy tell me that he didn't want a sign on his fence because he doesn't like to get involved in politics, or other things like that. He assured me that no other signs of our opponent would go up on his fence either to be fair to everyone. I thanked him anyway, and said it was too bad. As I walked away though, I thought in my mind, I'd rather see a John Kerry sign up in your yard than to know that you have no desire to give back to the community or stand up for what you believe in. The man was a hard core fence sitter.
People should use their first ammendment right more often, otherwise it will be taken away from us. I believe the Liberals are doing everything they can to shut the conservatives up by telling them that they shouldn't stand up for what they believe in, since their beliefs stem from the religion, and that would be a mixture of church and state. It's a sad thing when many conservatives buy into it and don't vote, or worse....don't vote their consience. Many people need to grow some balls and use them.....and I'm not talking about making babies... ;)

So who gets to decide what a religious moral is, and what's not one. Is saying murder is wrong a religious moral, or is it a scientific fact....or non-religious fact? Who decides that?
People of the same sex getting married. Is that a religous moral, or scientific fact? Who decides.
Abortion. Is that a religous view point if your against it, but a fact if you're against it? Who decides these things, and what religion does he belong to, or is he non-religious? Or is it a she....or may some other gender? Please explain so I can be politically correct too.

Republican and a Democrat
A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person.
The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to
come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his
pocket and gave it to the homeless person to make sure he had the
means to get there.
The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless

So is killing your wife.....but that doesn't make it right. I'm sure Scott Peterson didn't do this on a wim. It was a hard decision for him to make. One that he probably thought about a long time before he did it as many first degree murderers do. Wake up girly........you're not seeing things too clearly.
The only way I think my opinion should be law is if the majority of rational people (like myself.... ;) ) believe the same way I do. Our laws should be reflective of our society. As society becomes more and more corrupt, then so will our laws. Then our beloved nation and people will be destroyed. Mark my words.......
Here's a question to anyone who wants to answer it. If I believe that abortion is murder, and does extensive harm to the person having the abortion, the families and parties involved and most of the all the baby. If I know that to be true. Then why should I vote to keep it legal? Just because you and others might be misguided? Are you saying that I should NOT stand up for what I know and believe. That since you believe that abortion is a good thing that you CAN stand up for what you believe, and I should not because mine is different than yours. That sounds like stupidity to me. It's like in a game of football, telling the other team not to tackle your players because it stops you from scoring a touchdown. Although it might be worth a try, you're really naive if you actually expect the other team to do it just because you believe that your team might deserve to win more than they do.
