Gadget, do you feel there will be a revisit or do you feel they are done with you ?
I'm not sure. One of the things said at the end when they invited me to the meetings was that Elder 1 was going to drop some liturature off for me, so that if I went to the meetings I would have all the publications I needed. He's meant to be getting me the current magazines, a book for the group study and also the new ministry school text book, and another book I said I'd try to get hold of for another poster. I guess if he does drop them off it'll mean he thinks he's got a chance of talking me into going back to the meetings, roflmao!!!!!!!!!!!! So there may well be another visit......

I didn't think you'd make a dent in their self-complacency
I don't know, they looked so uncomfortable while they were sitting there. I'm looking at different ways to be able to upload the vid if anyone wants to see any clips, but the whole thing is 1.1gig so I've got to rework it a bit.............

Thanks everyone!
I was so nervous just before they got here, and when we were just havingg chit chat, but once they started talking religion and I made one or two points I got much more confident, and towards the end I was starting to enjoy myself! Afterwards I wasn't too sure how I'd got on, but when I watched my video again I was really pleased with how well I done!
I thought the bit about 17,000 apostate websites was interesting. Considering all the hits you get when you put jw into google he might be right, and if so does this mean its an admission that the watchtower does actually keep tracks of/moniter apostate sites?
And chevvy, I wish I'd realised that 35,000 a week adds up to 1.8 million a year, his face would have been brilliant!

Site abbreviations
by kls ina new poster has asked me of the abbreviations some use on the forum and i know someone not so long ago posted what they are.
i myself can't remember most of them.
does anyone know where the post is so the newbies can see it and know what they are.

Should I respond ....................

i was sent a scan of parts of last sundays watchtower from my father yesterday and he hadn't really made any effort to talk to me of anything wts in the last year or so.. the watchtower is about spiritually weak ones blondie did a great synopsis on it.. not sure how to respond, in the past when he sent emails about returning i normally ignore them these days and only respond to the family and normal topics.. however i don't want to rock the boat too much with my parents as they are old and really lovely people just very misled, they have been jws for nearly 50 years.. but it hurts me when they say that they pray every day for me to return to jehovah as i am the only one in a very large family who is no longer a jw................ i know that they are genuine and i have hurt them by becoming inactive.

When I first said I wasn't going back, somebody mentioned the next watchtower study in a similar way to you and I posted off a print out of Blondies review in reply. They didn't even read it, just passed it onto the elders. My parents were pretty upset when they found out about it and disowned me for a while although they are fine with me now. I would put a lot of thought into it before sending a reply.

Hey, for once Blondie has it wrong! Bttt means Ban Travis Til Thanksgiving, ita a little campaign some of us have running. Everytime we post this it show our support to the growing momentum of people wanting to ban Travis from posting on this board.
