On a need to know basis - The Letter
by no-zombie inwe've just had our sunday meeting and the letter was read out to the congregation.. however, there was no mention of the bethel lay-offs or the building program shut-downs.. looks like we are on a need to know basis, here in australia..

The final section of the Life and Ministry Meeting is entitled Living as Christians. This section begins with a song.
The next 15 minutes of this section will consist of one or two parts designed to help us apply God’s Word.
Then there will be a 30-minute Congregation Bible Study.
Thereafter, up to three minutes may be used by the chairman to review the meeting and preview material to be considered the following week. Any necessary announcements may also be made at this point. Expressions of praise to Jehovah in song and prayer will conclude the meeting.

More rumors, 500 families laid off from South African bethel.

i just received confirmation from a very trusted source in south africa bethel that up to 500 "families" (i imagine couples or singles) are getting let go from that branch.. also confirmed is the special pioneer cull.. what really strikes me about the layoffs is that the south african bethel provides literature and other needs for most of africa, a huge growth area for the org.. .

SA Bethel is very important in the Sub-Saharan region as it serves a number of countries printing needs - however 500 sounds quite steep - will need to confirm this ! The headcount was about 800 so.........I will try to get a solid confirm on this one. -

bohm - My attempt to confirm this from a "friend" of 6 decades !!!!!! resulted in me being told that we would no longer be needing to communicate with each other !

Cedars leaked letter requested to be taken down by WTBTS
by umbertoecho ini don't know if this is already posted so sorry people if it is.
cedars site has had a request to take down the leaked letter regarding changes to the theocratic ministry school and other issues.. the reason given by wt is that it is a "copyright" issue.
of course this validates the letters authenticity even more.. have a good day or night people.

me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.
debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

Re: toxic dump issue -
They will get the toxic waste cleaned + sue the company responsible for the dump + use local labour where necessary to clean it + + All at the expense of the R + F of course and then claim it was Gods hand in matters and this is just a stunning example of what THEY will achieve on Earth post the Big A !

In my country Bethalites have to be "employed" - the Labour Law does not recognise a Volunteer as being apart from the definition of employee and therefore being laid-off should constitute a Retrenchment and therefore subject to all the legalities protecting that situation - which should also involve a formal exiting process - which could be challenged in court. etc etc Most reasonable countries have similar labour laws.
