definitely something going in the london bethel.. i thought i'd ask them again (and record it again) what the situation was regarding the new britain branch construction work.. i got the same sister (debbie) and here is how the conversation went: .

me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.

debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

In my country Bethalites have to be "employed" - the Labour Law does not recognise a Volunteer as being apart from the definition of employee and therefore being laid-off should constitute a Retrenchment and therefore subject to all the legalities protecting that situation - which should also involve a formal exiting process - which could be challenged in court. etc etc Most reasonable countries have similar labour laws.

a good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

first let me tell you about george (his real name) the special pioneer.

not that good looking...a bit goofy, he had spiritual sisters literally ask him to date and flutter eyelids because of his positon.

the royal commission published it's redress report today.

it is a 668 page document, but it is very interesting.

all the recommendations they make are in harmony with what all other institutions will accept.

We can all do a bit to ensure that the report does "get out there" - Many did the same with the ARC hearings. I mailed it directly to the branch comm. members of the local Bethel - until after the 3rd or 4th mailing the replies started coming back from the main IT centre etc as 'unable to deliver' etc - But at least one or two were seen..

You have friends, contacts, colleagues and also your local district "free to the door" newspaper. FB / Twitter etc etc
