ESL Teaching in Russia by JWs

a while back, i had stumbled on some information about the jws infiltrating russia and china by using the esl teaching networks.

my son teaches english in china so i found these forum posts especially interesting.. when it comes to researching about teaching esl in foreign countries, the forums are your most valuable resource.

i had considered doing it - back in another life...going somewhere and teaching english.

They most definitely have gone to China under the guise of teaching - especially English. I happen to know Bethelites from South Africa who are there now for exactly this purpose. They have been trained in how to unobtrusively integrate into the local society and start "networks" of close friendships. One group are teaching at a University there - on a salary [tax free of their home country too]

well new to me anyway, i'm sure someone smarter than me has thought of this before.

the next time i get asked the perennial (and tired old) question: “but you do believe that the gb are god’s channel of communication, the organisation he is using, don’t you?” or some variation thereof, i am going to reply with two verses and reason as follows:.

the matter to be established: have the gb of jehovah’s witnesses received divine appointment to act as god’s representatives and channel of communication on earth?.

Who can explain why the "Two Witness" rule is wrong, in the simplest term?

i don't care if you're a bible believer and want to approach this from a biblical standpoint, or if you simply use logic and reason.

how would you explain this subject to a j-dub, or even a non-dub?.

the independent inquiry was set up after the death of dj jimmy savile in 2011 when hundreds of people came forward to say he had abused them as children.. the hearings are taking place at the international dispute resolution centre in central london, with the first phase concerning australia expected to last 10 days..

just wanted to thank everyone so much for all your responses to my first post.

i am overwhelmed by all the replies and supportive comments that came through overnight while i was asleep here in aussie land!.

i will absolutely endeavour to reply to each one individually but it will take some time as there are a lot to go through.

Without the [current] support of your spouse you will probably be struggling with angst along with a host of other emotions and feelings -

I can only hope it will change - I was in an almost ditto situation to yours - and I am still struggling with tremendous anger issues against the Borg. My wife and kids are out too, but with her it too may never have happened. She had her light-bulb moment while in hospital for Breast-Cancer and it was a true light-bulb moment !!

She had never been exposed to any "apostate" material at all. She simply read the Bible ....in bed ....without the use of the WT pub. and something "clicked" . Who knows.. maybe your wife will have a similar exp.

Btw you used the term Primary School in your first post.....are you in Aussie? South Africa?

A company is entitled to make decisions in the best interests of the company - Which is generally.......preserve the bottom line.

Please let us see the next episode in this case US friends ! It could be significant in terms of how Labour Law is used in this case.

The company has already gone the extra mile in finding him the alternative post -

He has made a lot of unsubstantiated claims and he is going to find it hard to bring Substance to that.

You can make all sorts of requests of your employer but circumstance may mitigate against the employer being able to accede to you requests for all sorts of reasons. Talk about being reasonable before all men!
