Masterful Game With Spiritual Stalkers
by WinAgainstThem ini've been in the ''truth'' for about 7 years.
basically i grew up believing in it, but knew joining it would destroy me.
im simply awkward around people and have suffered from social anxiety all my life.

What a way to expose them. Their mental gymnastics ties them in knots.
They usually just resort to "you should make that a matter of prayer", "wait on Jehovah", or some comment on "progressive truth" (as if truth moves).
lol thanks for sharing and welcome

My Explanation of Why They Got it Wrong About Blood Using Only the NWT
by cofty in10 " any israelite or any alien living among them who eats any bloodi will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people.
12 therefore i say to the israelites, "none of you may eat blood, nor may an alien living among you eat blood.
15 'anyone, whether native-born or alien, who eats anything found dead or torn by wild animals must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be ceremonially unclean till evening; then he will be clean.

This is one thread well worth the time it took you to write
and for me to read

Thanks
I ditto wasblind's comment above.
This should be personal for all active Jehovah's Witnesses. The GB will let your mate, child, friend, or you die instead of admit they are wrong on this otherwise relatively insignificant doctrine. They even go as far as to make it a test of faith. The sad thing is - it is a test of your faith in them - not God.

The GB's Obsession with the Catholics
by TTATTelder inthe gb for some reason is completely fixated on the roman catholic church (rcc).
they should just say that the rcc is babylon the great and get it over with.. the "world empire of false religion" ??
how often do they talk about muslims?

The GB for some reason is completely fixated on the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). They should just say that the RCC is Babylon the Great and get it over with.
The "World Empire of False Religion" ?? Really?
How often do they talk about Muslims? (over 1.5 billion people) How often to they talk about Hindus? (over 1 billion people) Uhh... like never.
It's strange... I just wonder where all the venom toward Catholics is coming from. If JW's are supposed to be the one true religion on earth, then why not have the same vitriol toward these other faiths? Are they not also leading people astray from the "faithful and discreet slave"?
Like with this whole overreaction to the UN making some statements about the RCC and child abuse. (I was just at a Witness gathering and the subject came up - the whole room was engrossed in a discussion about how "here it is" "this could be how it all starts" blah blah)
If that story was about Muslims, the witnesses wouldn't have even noticed.
So here's my question: Why the RCC fixation?
Do you think it is a competition thing? Are they bashing their biggest Christian competitor? Like one car dealer bashing the other?
Or is it jealousy over their power and wealth? We do know that the GB love them some power and wealth...

New congregation accounting system
by thedog1 ini'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.
i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.
this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.

Good Lord
I'm still stuck in as an elder in the US and we have nothing like that over here yet.
Wouldn't surprise me though. The cult control knows no bounds.

How many have been the FDS in the whole history of the world ?
by scary21 inwith the jw crazy new light, they must now believe that only 20-30 men in the whole history of mankind fill that role.
rutherford would be first, then knorr.
after them there were what eighteen on the gb?
-
TTATTelder
No I totally get it Sherry.
These guys think they're so special that God's Son, Jesus Christ, second most powerful person in the universe sat his apostles down to tell them about a couple dozen men in Brooklyn that would show up in 2000 years or so.
That's not far-fetched at all.

How the WT would look if written in 1st person: SO DISGUSTING
by Antioch inhow would the watchtower of july 15th read if the watchtower was written in 1st person from the ones allegedly preparing an dispensing spiritual food (ie the watchtower)?
why is it written by a faceless 3rd person telling readers what to think about the people who are allegedly dispensing the very material i'm reading?
i was reading the july 15th article and laughed at the ridiculousness of it all.. .

Good points.
"think they are written RIGHT into the Bible"
Scary when you think about how few actual men they claim the "faithful slave" refers to now.
It was discussed on another thread, but I think it's just a couple dozen men total. So a couple dozen men or so from an organization that spun off from the adventists were mentioned in scripture by God's Son?! and almost 2000 yrs ago?!
Combine that with their lower case governing body of the first century and the God-like capitilizing of themselves today as the Governing Body.
Is there any limit to their egos?

good one shirley
nhah,
I agree. The suffering and servitude starts pretty quick down the pyramid.
I don't know about DO's, but the life of a CO in a poor circuit isn't that great. I have seen CO apartments that I wouldn't live in. Block walls, prob 500 square ft, and in crappy neighborhoods. That isn't the norm, but they are out there across middle america and the deep south. The free meals sometimes suck and despite the "spiritual paradise" some of the homes of the poorer dubs (where they get fed) are less than sanitary.
I know some have it good in wealthier circuits, but it's a crap shoot.
I just read the Walsh trial stuff again, so I'm fuming over the little napoleans at the top right now.
