  Will the Watchtower take down their website?

  what can the watchtower do to stop the influx of their flock from going to apostate web sites that expose their false doctrines?

  one way would be to take down their website so no one would even have a reason to get on line.

  too severe right?

  Which way will the Society go because of the Internet?

  i've only learned the truth about this society over the last 5 months or so, so i'm not sure what the difference is to say - 2 years ago.

  do you think the society will now get even more cultish in it's methods of teaching and more heavy handed if they feel things are slipping?

  i don't feel i'm being over the top here because i've experienced very heavy handed talks at the assemblies and kingdom hall in the past that are just plain scare tactics but this just makes people ask more questions ??

  Did anything a householder said ever make an impression on you?

  coming at this as a householder rather than an ex-jw, i'd love to hear from any of you about comments from householders that made an impression on you, back when you were active in the door-to-door work.

  since the jw's first knocked at my door 13 years ago, i've done my best to give them something to think about every time they knock at my door.

  i always introduce myself by name and try to get their names.

  Jehovah Launches Solo Career

  2 months after breakup with group, deity starts anew.. two months after bitterly breaking up with the group jehovah's witnesses, jehovah god has announced the launch of his new solo effort.

  at a press conference in pittsburgh, the historical launching pad for his previous religious affiliation, jehovah seemed relaxed and happy as he puffed on an illegaly imported cuban cigar and discussed his marketing strategy.. wearing a snowy white t-shirt and a modest crown of eternal fire, radiating holiness, purity, and joie de vivre, jehovah wowed reporters with his wit and sincerity.

  the back of crazy mocha coffee shop in the bloomfield section of town rang loud with laughter and the occasional salvation of a weary sinner.. "that's strictly for effect, you know," said the supreme being, watching a newly converted member of his solo effort roll on the floor.

  Are you patriotic?

  tonight my husband and i watched the fireworks for the 4th of july.

  i've never done this before, save for occasionally peering out of my window as a child hoping to see a few.

  tonight was wonderful - beautiful, fun, and there were tons of people there who were behaving themselves at least as well as people behave at assembly.

  New here...(my story and a request for help)

  i was raised in the organization.

  my stepfather was a ministerial servant but was removed when i was 14, due to family problems, which he blamed on me (he was abusive, physically, and was told that if he cannot control his family, he could not be an example to the congregation).

  i became pregnant at 15 and have not really lived around my family since then.

  Lost my job cause of the dubs!

  these last two weeks have been just plain awful for me... 2 weeks i hope to never have to go through.

  firstly my mum disowns me, then i lose my baby and get an infection from the miscarriage.

  i go back to work after having 10 days off to find out i have lost my job.

  Not sure if this is the right area

  all - of course i'm new to this board (or any board) and have an 'issue'.

  my father and step-mother are both jw's and i know i can't argue with them.

  however they're important to me and yet after a visit, i feel as if they are chipping away at my own spirit.

  WoMD ... so where are they?

  now, the war is over, the weapons were not used and of course have not been found.. how threatening could they be if they did not even use them when being invaded by a massive force (of the countries they hate)?!

  perhaps, as many suspect, they didn't use them because they didn't have them?.

  now we're being told that we'll have to be patient and give them time to find them.
