I sent this to Angus Stewart this morning (Easter Standard Time)
by Viviane ini just sent this email to angus stewart:.
i hope this email finds you well.
i would like to say thank you for your work on the royal commission, particularly in your handling of the jehovah's witnesses elders and experts during questioning.

I would be careful with publicly presenting the e-mail sent by mr. Stewart. In fact it's breach of confidentiality. I'm not so sure mr. Stewart will appreciate this, Viviane. I don't mean to criticise you, I'm just worried that your good intentions might harm mr. Stewart, while he's doing such a great job and even is so polite to reply to the messages he receives. -

Am I going crazy?
by HappyDad inam i going nuts or am i just pissed off?
there are so many posters who use abbreviations in their posts and so many of us have been out for years.
the borg constantly changes everything from beliefs to organizational tactics, so those like me don't have a clue to what you are referring to.

Thank you OneEyedJoe, I'm not familiar with star trek, so I would never have come up with this explanation. But as you describe it, it's indeed a decent metaphor for the JW's.
And 'dub'... even now it's still confusing sometimes. When I tell my husband something I've read here, and say "I've read this on the JW-forum"... I say it in Dutch to him, so I mix up the Dutch abbreviation of 'Jehovah's Getuigen' (JG) and the English one 'JW' and often mistakenly pronounce the English abbreviation in Dutch, where a 'W' is pronounced as 'way'...and then it gets either stupid or hilarious (depending on my mood haha). Well my husband doesn't understand anything from the JW-cult anyway... -

For not native English speaking people it might be good to explain what 'dub' means (took me months before I found out where it came from, the English pronounciation of the 'W', in 'JW", 'double U' abbreviated to 'dub'. That's correct, isn't it?).
And 'borg'... I don't know what it exactly means. It obviously refers to 'org', but what's the definition of 'borg'?

They'll come. When websites change it always takes the visitors a while to adjust. Besides, most of us are addicted to this forum one way or another, so patience is the word here :) -

If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..
-
Bruja-del-Sol
I wouldn't go to the talk in the kingdom hall, but I'd definitely want to be there when they close the door of the oven in the crematorium, to make sure they are really gone. Sounds harsh maybe, but that's the way it is. -

New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

I'm really glad I could finally get rid of that creepy brown monster for an avatar (even without the use of Gravatar). Really cool! -

It will take some time to get used to the new looks, but that's normal after such a change. Just want to say THANK YOU to Simon, for all your work and effort. Much appreciated! -

Pfffffff I got lost here! Haven't been here for a while I guess, thought I had made a mistake in the URL (it's .com now, instead of .net)... Took me a while, but ultimately I'm signed in too!
Merry Christmas everyone!
