What Happens at Judicial Committee Meeting on Apostasy

this was a famous case here in the uk, based around the experiences of matt barrie (aka hobo ken).

I'm speechless. I listened to both recordings in their entirety. I think Matthew should get self-control award of the century.

Just the fact that you have 3 separate people questioning you(+ 2 other witnesses) and for that long of time saying that if you

disagree with JW teachings even in your heart you are evil is mind blowing. What happened there is they didn't like their authority being challenged.

It is much like politics such as when someone disagrees with them it is the automatic response to disagree back in order to save their pride and the

pride of their organization. Matthew did extremely well in sticking to his guns which I was hoping he was going to do even to the end.

One thing one of the elders on the "appeal" committee said was that the salvation message of the gospel was what Christendom teaches but not

Jehovah's witnesses. Really? So who put that in the bible? Some random guy- God didn't know what he was doing? Oops I slipped it in there again I

meant to speak about the kingdom more. This is definitely the most satisfying judicial committee I have listened to because the "wrongdoer" did

not give out or concede when they repeatedly were prying despite them claiming they were not. How many times did they ask for his personal views despite him telling them he wasn't going to discuss them? At least 50 that is my guess.

Oh and I noticed how much they said 'emmm'(scottish version of americans umm) was way way way more than Matthew did. This really tells something about them because that is what you have to do when you are reaching. Seriously listen to how many times they said 'emm' it is crazy.

Adam as a 30+ year JW I beg to differ. Taking in knowledge of somebody is completely different than knowing someone and that was how that scripture was

used in the "knowledge" book. How many times did we use that scripture to tell someone they need knowledge to have everlasting life?? Have you forgot?

articles such at "100 years of kingdom rule" in which jehovah has 'in a sense' begun ruling as king, and jesus in a sense was made king.

even though the kingdom hasn't actually come.

it's not clear if the 1,000 year reign has began or not, if so only 900 years left of jesus rule?

now that i've looked at it again to reach 50k total deaths the jw's would need a death rate of roughly 25 deaths per 100,000 per year for 60+ years

You know what I am learning things here. the death rate of 50.2 deaths per 100,000 is also per year so that definitely changes things. thanks jw forum board.

Simon: I used 20m as a rough estimate for all the witnesses living through the 60 year blood ban. I took 7.5 m and doubled it and added some more. I don't

think anywhere near 30m witnesses in different generations existed since 1945 til now.

Marvin: Are you saying that witnesses have a higher anemia death rate than sao tome and pricipe of 50.2 deaths per 100,000?

You can't add up the witness population from year to year because they are the same people being counted from year to year.

Hello, I would just like to add something to this discussion. The anemia deaths of Jehovah's Witnesses of 50,000 seems unrealistic.

Assuming 20,000,000 JW's lived in the organization during the blood ban and assuming a 50.2 deathrate per 100,000 which is the highest in

the world from anemia deaths in sao tome and principe we only get 10,040 deaths.

Assuming 30,000,000 JW's lived during the ban we only get 15,060.
