New Homo erectus Skull Shakes up Palaeontology

a fantastic homo erectus skull has been found in georgia - no not our former colony, the one in asia.. it is one of 5 that have been found at a site in dmanisi, it's the first homo erectus to be found outside of africa and it is in excellent condition.

the fossils are dated at 1.8 million years ago and comparisions of the specimens have thrown doubt over the details of human evolution.. it is possible that species previously named as h rudolfensis , h gautengensis , h ergaster and possibly h habilis were actually all h erectus.

the natural variation withing the species may be greater than thought previously.. the "lumpers" and the "splitters" are going to have plenty to argue about for years to come.. note to creationists - please read the article carefully.

Yes it's very bad theology and even worse science. The gap for god keeps getting smaller as scientific knowledge grows.-cofty

I am afraid I would disagree with that statement cofty. How about the science of moving sub-atomic particles in solids? Science has discovered this, can explain it, but cannot change or create what exists, in sub-atomic orbitals.

Plus we can't ignore fake results, from cantleave's post. Motives that are possibly trying to negate the need for a Creator.

cofty, do you believe all scientists are atheist? If not, those that believe in an intelligent creator, do you view as not credible?

Fabulous answer, but I do have mixed feelings on some of your points. You wrote

Can everything in the whole wide world really be explained cofty? A bit of a generalisation, perhaps or am I messed up with my issues surrounding WT? Now your god-of-the-gaps point is something I have seen you write on another thread. Is it so bad if one fills in the gaps with God? Other posters seemed to have valid points too. So now do I have mixed feelings? Not about God. I still believe he exists. But I have mixed feelings about the bible, WT, and religion.

I am starting to rethink the whole thing over, I suppose the gospels could have been acurate history records, but now I am doubting this. I dont know yet.

Evolution doesn't make god impossible it just makes him redundant.

If evolution is an ongoing process, can one not believe God is guiding the formation of living things? Am I screwed up by the WT or do I make sense to you?
