For deformation of character case to get into national papers and into court is an achievement. As far as the innocence of fraud is concerned that's a separate matter.
I hope this gets more press.

this looks interesting, this guy is bringing the right to family life into his case.
many have thought of doing this.
maybe a good test case.. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/jehovahs-witness-sues-for-150000-after-church-snubbed-him-over-fraud-claims-9750062.html.

joe, sorry, you'll have to eat some humble pie.. .
thank you so much for the poster on extj.com who sent these pics!!
can't have been better!!.
Nice find, thanks for the pics. This is more evidence that WT is not united in worship and some can do things others cannot and get DF'd for. Kate xx
the new young blood gb member, you think he really thinks this is the truth or is he protecting his financial interest like all the older gb members who enjoy basking in glory of men?
do you think they believe in the "over-lapping generation" or was that a mistake done by barr?.
how much of the watchtower and the bible do the governing body know, ray franz jr. said he was not impressed with their bible knowledge and their lack of knowledge of the watchtower cannon.
I don't think the GB truly believe in the power of holy spirit because they vote and change things if there is a 2/3 majority. That is relying on their own man made descisions, if they relied on God they wouldn't vote. They enjoy their life style and try and convince themselves it's Jehovah's blessing.
With the amount of letters wirtten to all the Bethels around the world there is no way the GB think it's all real, no way.

i havent been going door to door saturday mornings for since i can't remember when.
i have been putting in regular reports to the congregation but the last time i actually went on a door was probably six months ago or so and it has been at least 2 years since i did a saturday morning.
9:30 we showed up to the group arrangement, we waited outside because we were not sure that it was the right place.
I feel so out of place. I had five students the day I got Df'd. FS was everything to me, I was really zealous and used to approach anyone and everyone. I went on all my return visits and even turned some into regular bible studies. JWs used to just say to me... "I am no good at the ministry". I used to work with all ranges of publishers and did not have regular partners.
I really believed I was doing a worthwhile work, it was only until I got DF'd I could understand why so many JWs are so apethetic in FS.
I was converted and was always zealous as soon as I qualified to preach.

i come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.
it's a great place to socialize.
does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.
There are also some that come here to proselytise and preach their version of "truth". Kate xx
there is a thread on jwtalk suggesting that the latest hall designs do not feature a literature desk.
the dubs will pick up gear from a self serve kiosk in the hall, just enough for their immediate needs.. time will tell if this is true but if so then it relfects the reducing emphasis on printed material.
also, i think there is another by product.
We all know how the congregations are suffering from a lack of desire to reach out. I am not saying this the is thinking but anything that means you need less willing volunteers...- K99
In the two congs I was in there were plenty of brothers reaching out, there were actually held back by slef important and self righteuous elders. There were of course the usual ones who were on the fringes of the Org who didn't care less, but in the main they were all trying to reach out and chasing the proverbial dangling carrot.
I think this is just a cost cutting excersise, it will certainly reduce printing costs. They have already reduced the costs by stopping some regular articles and have JWs print them off themselves from the featured articles on the website, hence increasing the cost to the publishers / members. This raised my eyebrows when it first happened.

i'm sure there are probably a few posters on here that have had experience themselves or had family members with eating disorders.
i'm posting here not for myself, but out of concern for someone else.. there is a teenage (about 16, recently baptized) brother who quite obviously has an eating disorder.
i have personally been at a few gatherings and seen him refuse all food while everyone else was eating, with the excuse that "he wasn't hungry", so i can say it's definitely an eating disorder and not some allergy or just a one-off.. i'm also not the only one who has noticed it - i've been in discussions with a few brothers and sisters who have also remarked on his conditon, but don't seem to know any more about it than i do.
Confronting the situation head on is the answer. But the level of your friendship with the family might need to change before you do so. It sounds like you're not very close to the young boy or the parents, it's noble that you are concerned, but to avoid being called a busy body I would advise you to draw closer to the family.
If you invite them to do something like a bike ride and then go for a bite to eat you can expose the illness. You could also ask him to help you wash your car. I certainly think drawing closer to the family beofre you confront them is the best course of action. Show them you care, actions speak louder than words.

many outside are now aware of the scam.... the brother announces a "deficit" at the assemblies.
what they dont announce is that the so called expenses include a predetermined donation to the branch.
meaning, the assembly hall is paid for so the basic expenses should be utilities, maybe some speaker expenses and a 52nd share of property taxes and the like.... however the "deficit" always seems to run into the thousands with "expenses incured" totaling 7-10k.
Unfortunatly it wont wake anyone whos not already wondering-just
The thing is there are many who are wondering and that is one of the first things that stops, donations, when JWs doubt. Many wake up due to false doctrine and donation scams. Kate xx
at a recent circuit assembly "business meeting" for elders, a new program was announced: "funds on deposit".. here's how it works:.
each circuit determines a "floor" and a "ceiling" for an amount to hold in their circuit checking account.
when the "ceiling" amount is exceeded, the amount above the threshold is wired to the wts and held by them.. if the circuit checking account drops below the "floor" amount, the circuit can send a request to the wts to request that some of their "funds on deposit" be returned to them so that their checking account resumes a "safe" level.. as explained by the elder explaining the program,, "in other words, the branch is acting exactly like a bank - the circuit will make deposits and withdrawals as needed.
I can certainly see some elders questioning this directive, perhaps a few will wake up. I hope so. Kate xx

I come here to vent and to help others. Comming here helped me find my way and understand my true beliefs sperate from WT. Kate xx
