hey guys, .
i just wanted to thank you all for all of your input, support and help over the past few months.
i've decided to officially disassociate myself from the organization and move on with my life.
Congratulations on leaving and doing it your way. I was completely isolated when I left but things started to look up after a while

i must say that i have always loved jehovah and his son jesus christ.
i have a 12 inch diameter telescope.
i would go outside and listen to the psalms that praised to my god.
Vinman, welcome to JWN. I still believe in a creator of some kind. I don't think he is benevolent but I do still believe.

i stumbled upon this site about a week ago while googling a question.
the question was "why can't jw's have beards?
" i read the responses and realized the truth in them.
Thanks for your story I enjoyed reading it.

a week or so ago i posted that the forum was 15 years old (15 years of jehovahs-witness.com) and hinted that there may be some news to announce about the site:.
i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.
well, now i can announce it - i sold it !.
hey guys,.
this is going to be a topic of a different nature.
so, while i am not looking to date at the current moment since i'm still trying to figure out who i am and what i want life, i do want to start dating in the near future.. my issue is that i've been in for almost all my life and it's left a big hole when it comes to my romantic life.. i was wondering, after leaving, did any of you date?
Well Garret I think your idea to date online might be fun for you.
I have been dating online for a while and enjoying it loads not met Mr Right yet but having fun looking.
I haven't tried eHarmony I might sign up lol

i been married to my husband for almost 9 years.
he's been a witness his whole life but got disfellowship a little over 15 years ago.
before his dis fellowshiping he was very active.
Disfellowshiping is all nonsense. The elders make up their own rules. It can be harsh and unloving if you don't have a family member on the body of elders. They can just forget about you and keep saying no to reinstatement.
I suggest you tell your husband to stop trying now cos it's nonsense.
Good luck

it took a few years but i finally decided to join yesterday.
my background, born-in, still go to meetings for family reasons, i am inactive however.
if you were to ask when i first woke up i would say 2010 with the overlapping generation garbage.
Welcome the comet, Thanks for your post...it's nice to see lurkers finally posting.
I see you're still in for family but you woke up five years ago. That is a long time to still go to meetings.
Are you struggling to keep sane at meetings? How do you cope? Do you want true freedom?
Take care

hey guys,.
so, since my leaving i have been doing so much research on so many topics that it's been extremely enlightening.
not only have i learned a lot about the organization and what motivates it, but i have also learned a lot about the bible, god and most importantly, myself.. currently, i'm not quite sure where i stand, but i'm having some real issues with the bible and god.
Garret, I don't really know what I became when I learned TTATT. I suppose it has been a process of learning and I am still learning.
At present I have enough evidence to suggest the process of evolution was guided by a higher power. But also that higher power is not benevolent in any way. If the processes I am talking about have more evidence that they are unguided I will change my view.
So I am probably deist at the moment.

only have a few minutes to spare so thought i would throw this together.. been in for about 30 years.
questions and doubts gathered over that time.
i have a keen interest in the legal and financial matters of the watchtower.. came across this site about 5 years ago.
Welcome Ozgirl....yes I did say the new tithing arrangement was like an everlasting loan lol...I was being facetious.
Your points are really good and your doubts are legitimate. Now is the time to decide what is next. Do you fade, exit dramatically, or stay put?
Keep us informed.

so, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.. we had further discussion yesterday evening after i sent her the pbs video on the abuse scandals plaguing the watchtower.
she was so furious and pissed off at wt hq.
apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed.
but gave her fair warning that after reading it I felt like my world was crumbling-Cappytan
Yeah you made a boo boo there. I was overwhelmed too when I read it. Tell her that if you send it to her....you will be there for her if she finds anything uncomfortable or stressful.
