Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation
by kaik inmy mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.
so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.
nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

Kiak, I am sorry you're mum had to put up with this. But I can't say I am surprised. Hopefully this will make her think twice about ever donating again and it may even wake her up.

@Nerd thank you for all your responses to this thread. I am so sorry many keep referring to you as a man. It was clear when you spoke of your husband you are a woman.
I am interested in knowing a little about your husbands upbringing. Was his mother a JW all his life? Or was she converted when he grew up?

Thanks label licker for your impression you gave to a non JW. You have just proven WT right that ex JWs are bitter and angry.
You owe Nerd in the brain an apology.
@Nerd, I hope she hasn't tarred us all with her brush. We have all left for one reason or another or woken up to the false doctrines. We suffer shunning.
I hope you get to see the full picture

Dont Give Them More Power Than They Deserve
by Tech49 ina new montra that was recently adopted by the wife and i is this:.
dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.
we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

Do you actually know why the elders were calling and wanted to meet?
More information would be helpful for others going through the same.

My first post
by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

I understand your concern about your family and loved ones that have helped you.
But the WT doesn't have a policy to help those who doubt or lose their faith. If a JW stops believing they are cut off and shunned. This is terrible and we must make a choice to either stay JWs for family or leave and be shunned.
A terrible choice I know but many on here have made a choice and survived and live with that choice with the help of each other on the board.

Things seem to be going nicely for you. I wish you lots of happiness.

I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide
by SnakesInTheTower inmy middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.

Suicide is dreadful no matter what. But as zoos points out if you had no relationship with him you may feel you have suffered no loss.
But if you did you may start to feel it in time.
Sorry for your news.

Are we participants in this forum because of bouts of "loneliness"?
by Wonderment ini wonder how many of us here hold on to this meeting place out of "loneliness.
could it be that we harbor feelings of "abandonment" and "loneliness" from being left cold and dry by the wt people and our families?
perhaps we do have a need to reach out to people with similar experiences.
-
KateWild
Yes I get bouts if loneliness. After reading all the posts it really depends on your circumstances.
But I also come to help JWs who are doubting and confused as I once was. It was a terrible time for me and I genuinely want to help.
I have a great boyfriend now so loneliness isn't so much of an issue.

Welcome Walker,
Your English is great. You have plenty of response so I will keep mine brief.
You have come to the right place to explore your doubts. I first doubted holy spirit when I had a bad experience. Then the whole WT fell around me as I did research.
Jwfacts.com and jwsurvey.org helped me a lot and this site too.
