Well said braincleaned-I do get your point. It was well thought out because a famous scientist used a similar illustration. Your point is we need knowledge to form opinions and make choices.

cantleave-correct me if I am wrong. Back to Shrodinger, didn't he do a cat in the box experiment like this also? Point being.....you can't always open the door or box to check if the elepahant or cat is inside.
Some people don't even care whats in the box or the room......

Our first Halloween was amazing
by confusedandalone innot sure if this is the right forum, if not i apologize.. last night was our first halloween.
i have to admit, the very idea that somehow it is satanic and that it makes bible god cry seemed immensely foolish as we prepared for it.
my daughter was dressed as an undead witch and my son was dressed as thomas the tank engine.

Need help! Atheists/creationists/agnostics whatever

for all those atheists or agnostics or maybe christian science people--what are some great sites to explore our existence, the universe, bible history and archaeology, pretty much all one needs to make a decision on their beliefs.
lets show the lurking jws that we can collaborate on something, and help a confused fading jw (me) explor his options and actually research.

I beleive in God. For me it wasn't based on anything I read on a website. It was my love and knowledge of chemistry that brought me to my conclusion. However many I have met, studied and worked with have similar knowledge but different beliefs.
I am not interested in biology, hence I have never read anything Dawkins has written, and I don't think I will. I have seen a internet youtube clip, from that small snippet of him, I think he is arrogant and sanctimonious. But I may change my mind in the future.
IMO finding hobbies and interests can help us contemplate and find the answers to our questions, reading is good, but so is having experiences. Not everything that is written is credible, we know this from our experience from the BOrg.
Have fun on your search, DS....there is no hurry, enjoy life to the full in finding answers-Kate xx
