  Is it just me or has this site become a Believer/Atheist warzone?

  i enjoy the odd thread about evoloution vs creation, etc but lately it seems that a large percentage of threads here devolve into fighting between atheists and theists and distract from what most of us here see eye to eye on, the wt and related things.

  i wish things could be more civil here and fr people to realize that people will never see eye to eye on the topic.

  it gets so tiring to see the contstant bickring and fighting on those threads.. they seem to go on page after page but very little of substance is discussed seeing as the existence or non existence of a god can be proven by anyone.

  Nonsense, many stop considering cofty. Like my Dad, as a child I used to ask him about God he just said he didn't know I could believe what I wanted. He is nearing the end of his earthly course. He doesn't care what lies ahead, he is intersted in getting the facts.

  If he's stays unconsious, he hasn't gone with some burning unsatisfying unanswered questions, he stopped considering the evidence years ago, he is not an atheist at all. He is a practicing Agnostic Jew. He wishes to label himself.

  Many who label thamselves agnostics, feel they have better things to do with their time than find out if God is or isn't real. They may have a religion and pray, but just want to wait until they die to find out if God is real

  They are patient and content with not knowing all the answers

  if you could teach me one thing to convince me not to believe what would it be?

  for instance what has the wt taught about evolution/science or mans existence that is wrong and could possibly change skmeones mind?

  and the more important question, why is it a creator couldnt allow for species to evolve?

  You shouldn't imagine things like that. I am a newbie, Adam is harmless. He thinks he puts his view's across in a non-fundamental and non-dogmatic style. Not all newbie's would agree with him about his style.

  JWs are here searching, they want to be free thinker's and want to check facts.

  villagegirl's question on another thread was probably supposed to be rhetorical but i want to respond to it.. many times people of faith express similar misapprehensions about those who don't share their views on eternity.. i want this to be a positive thread.

  an opportunity for atheists to share what moves and inspires them.

  what do you live for, what gives your life meaning and purpose?

  Tammy,

  The washing hands tradition is just that. We were tought it as a tradition. We only every did it ceremonially at weddings and Bar-Mitvah's and functions.

  Men first, then women, then kids.

  There was a jug of water and a bowl. We had to pour the COLD! water down from our elbows to our fingertips. Then we sat down to eat. It was a load of nonsense if you ask me, had nothing to do with eating with clean hand or hygiene, I think the same water was used for everyone and poured back into the jug for the next in line.

  Why are you and adam talking about handwashing anyway? How is that going to convince DS to choose God or atheism?

  How Many Generations From Noah to Abram?

  so in trying to keep family off my ass i sat in with family "worship" from the imitate their faith book.

  in chapter three it starts off saying that abram was ten generations away from noah.

  imagine the looks of anger and frustration i was given when i kept reading the sentence as abram being one generation removed from noah.
