I hope you find your exit plan that suits you and revitalises you. Take care love Sam xx

DS, a step in the right direction, well done.
You know your wife better than any of us, try and think of good veiw point questions and just listen to her. What is she most cheesed off about in the cong at the moment?
Women like to let off steam about Sis ShowOff.
Take your time with the next step, after all Armaggedon is NOT around the corner. Love Sam xx

Interview with an Apostate: Simon
by Simon ini had an idea for coming up with a standard(ish) set of interview questions which members of the ex-jw community could use to provide insights into their lives as a kind of series (yeah, i was thinking of "interview with a vampire", lol).. anyway, this is the result to show the sort of thing i'm thinking of (applied to myself) and i'd like feedback on the format and the questions as well as who you'd also like to see "interviewed".. feel free to provide your own life story as a separate topic or ask any additional questions that i've missed.
it's not meant to be rigid so questions / themes can be adapted as needed and split / joined as appropriate.
the common questions will hopefully apply to everyone for some consistency and to guide the writing process with additional questions asked that make sense to each subject.. well, here goes .... tell us a little about yourself and your family.. im an independent software developer who grew up in manchester (uk) but now lives in calgary (canada) with my wife angharad and two boys, liam and dylan.

Boeing 747s and Other Misunderstandings about Evolution
by cofty inperhaps the most common misunderstanding that prevents people from grasping evolution is complexity.. we see it almost daily on the forum where people mention dna or the eye or any of a multititude of examples and ask how it could have arose "by blind chance"?.
whenever you see a reference to chance and complexity it is obvious the person hasn't yet grasped the basics of the theory.
chance is only one part of the process.

Cancer requires at least 4 mutations for it to be malignant, be careful what you assign your god Kate x-snare
This analogy is something that cofty has asked us not to refer to. I would like to respect his wishes.
Let's look at my personal mutation instead. I was born with ASD, this is a developmental disorder, my brain did not develop the way many brains do, hence it was a mutation. In as far as the gene pool mutations go, ASD is heriditary, and over the generations the mutation has become more prevelant. My son suffer's with ASD also.
So your point is very good, would God in an orderly way, deliberately cause mutation's in my family's brains?
Answer, I don't think God care's about anyone really. So allowing these mutations to happen is like a man who starts a small family business, and then retire's lives his life and his business suffer's in some ways and thrives in others, over the generation's the owner has no concern for how his business is doing or for that matter the employee's.
But your point is valid snare, love Sam xx

Kate, with the greatest respect do you know much about mutations?-snare
Thank you for showing great respect, I must admit I know more about Chemistry than Biology, and more about sub-atomic particles than evoltionary mutations. So you make fair comments, my conclusion that the order is divine, is based on all my knowledge not just evolution, but I respect your conclusions too. After all, it's not wrong to believe in an intelligent creator and the process of evolution is it?
Thanks snare for your input

cofty, you do make a fair comment about the gene pool, I did read something about that in "The Greatest Show on Earth", I only recall the fact that when they mix, it's like shufflling cards not mixing paint, but Dawkin's at this point did not highlight the fact that the gene pools would determine the random mutations.
I am not unwilling to accept any part of evolution. I just respect the order of the evolution process, and find it spiritually divine.
probably find your incredulity is greatly reduced-cofty
It's sad you think this, I want to be open minded, and protect myself from fundamental views. Sam xx
