Interesting thread. I missed it 9 months ago. I am annoyed that I couldn't join in the conversation. We didn't have a court ruling, but my son refused to go to meetings with his dad, and his dad was trying to force him. Eventually his dad gave up.
This was when we were in court about 18 months ago, I could have used it as a precedent if there are similar historical cases. But it's good to know if the situation arises again or other posters are in the same position. Good find Orphan.

when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".

If you talked to my 23 yr old daughter this way I would not find you compassionate. And yes I am being a growly momma bear. Some people like Cofty, are very intelligent in a lot of ways, but may not understand you because they are less able to see your perspective as they have their own perspective they are happy with.

K99, Cofty, and Viv, In a couple of weeks. Kids in the UK have broken up from school for the summer and my friend needs my help packing and unpacking, he is moving next weekend. Plus I have a job and hobbies now, and go on the odd date too.

I think this is quite abusive really, I feel he is too controlling, if my ex was like this with my son I would say something, but his dad lets him pick subjects he want's, he used to try an force him to go in service and to meetings, but now he has stopped forcing him.
I am glad you think you are better now, and you're not baptized. I will resurrect this post in 6 months again to see if things have changed, but if things get worse before start a new thread to seek some advice, I might not see it because we are in different time zones but I am sure others will give good advice take care looter

ohhh looter I missed this thread six months ago. I am so sorry about your mother and your brother. You should consider living with your niece, especially as she is like a mother and loves you very much.
I can't believe you have been on this site since you were about 15 yrs old. That's very young, but good for you. My son is 14 and I don't think he would be competent at posting threads on an internet forum when he reaches 15.
