and, let's just say that if one wanted to order a nice bottle of champagne...the good stuff.....i've had pol roget or sparkling wine.
but, any suggestions on a really good french champagne?

in the story of barbara anderson she mentions cohi towers assiociates and she mentions them as very rich witnesses.. they bought buildings (standish hotel & bossert hotel) which where renovated (by voluntair witnesses presumably) and with goods of the wbts and afterwards sold to the watchtower.. is that the way some people gets even more rich?
is that the purpose of the organization?
is the selling/buying of these big buildings written down in archives?
As we understand it, the COHI group was formed to purchase property and avoid issues with the Brooklyn Heights people. Some would have refused to sell to the Dubs. Likely there were other reasons not known to us personally.
One of the princpals in COHI was Dallas (Dick) F. Wallace, a very wealthy Dub. He was the founder of Tech Tire Patch which in turn gave way to the Mighty Distributing franchise empire. Dick died several years ago, he had MS I believe.
i think it's a deserving act of love to make the sacrifice to rejoin a cult in order to stay connected to your family.
it's putting your love of your family over so so many things.
what could we call it so we could easily understand someone's actions who also does this?
Perhaps he is now RE-DUBBED
i see that the watchtower has formed new corporations.
i never thought i would ever see one of them as "the religious order of jehovah's witnesses.
"bethel vatican" or "gilead college of cardinals?
This is another despicable act by them to avoid paying social security taxes on the monthly stipend provided the Bethelites and others in the "full time service" of the Lord. So now they are kicking out members who have been there many years and leaving them with a terrible financial burden for their waining years. Oh yes some are offered special assistance, but with strings attached that some are finding unacceptable. Unfortunately, my last remaining contact at the "House of God" has also been downsized, so I've lost my inside track on the mood of the family to all this.
Sad, Sad, Sad. To give a life of service and be told your too old or sick, now get the hell out of here.
i've been shooting with a canon rebel xt for about a year and have acquired a few nice lenses.
i've been thinking of moving up to a canon 5d.
anyone here have experience with this camera?.
For those that asked, my web link shots are presently from Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida and Paynes Prairie near Gainesville/Ocala.

Thanks to all for the advice thus far. Perhaps I should just concentrate on purchasing more goodies for now. I already purchased Canon's 100-400 image stabilized lense and just received Sigmas new 24-70 macro which replaces that nasty freebie kit lense that came with my camera.
Any ideas as to where to go from here?
For the film shooters. I was reluctant to venture into digital, but now I find myself shooting more and critiquing in ways I never did with film. Though a daunting program Photoshop presents opportunities I never had with film.
Happy shooting

I'm particularly interested in knowing if the 5D shoots RAW in the auto function modes as well as in the manual settings. The XT shoots RAW in the manual modes but jpeg in all the auto modes. Sometimes it's nice to just let the camera do the work, but I like to start with RAW files if at all possible.
No attacks from Nikon shooters please, I do shoot film with my two trusty old Nikons, but.....
Happy shooting all.
why do the brothers take such offense when someone says that the meetings are boring?.
i can't possibly fathom how people who have been going to the meetings for decades can sit at the kh and listen, for example, to yesterday's wt study for an hour about adam and eve, cain and abel, how we are all allowed to pray, blah, blah, blah... and not be bored out of their minds!.

That's why we clapped when they were over!
