both these lenses are heavy and i can't see myself lugging either one long distances without my modified baby stroller.. any experiences with either lens?

Shamus: haven't heard much other than the ads I've read about the Kirk. Yeah it's pricey too! Aren't we a crazy lot?

Shamus: I bought a 50mm about a month ago but haven't had the time to "play" yet. Soon. BTW did you see how much a 1.2 costs vs the 1.4?...WOW Too much!

Hint: I have a 100-400 IS which has been my mainstay since I started shooting. It's great for birds in flight too, heavy but not terribly so. I'd like to move to the next level with something that gives me a little more reach. Hence the 500 vs 600 question. I can buy a 500 for about $1000 less than a 600. Some folks seem to lean in that direction because of the weight of the 600, about 3 lbs more than the 500. I don't really see that as an issue because I likely will never lug either beast without my "carriage". Though the savings might launch me into that full frame dslr I want.

i remember in my kingdom hall one of our 5 elders bro.

"smith" had a gossipy wife sis "smith" who would be known to gossip from the time she enter the hall until she left.

i don't know how she never was reproved or counseled for her gossiping.

tiki - you beat me to the draw.

Too many elders run their mouths to the wifie who then has to elevate her position by being in "the know". When I tried to stem some of this in one cong. it fell on deaf ears among the body who denied it was a problem.

If Circuit Overseers drive Buick LaCrosses, what do Governing Body members drive?

i dont think anyone really knows the answer to this one... but im thinking theyre probably driven around by cos in their buick lacrosses and don't actually have cars of their own... but i could be wrong..... by the way, the cos in my area drive used toyota corollas... so it would appear that the american cos get the plush cars while non-american cos get second-rate vehicles.. .

purchase used circuit overseer cars here.... .

Grant Suiter used to drive a black Electra 225.

I think most of the other older guys we knew did not drive.

I don't know what your gear is but just to give an example for the Acratech ($350 B&H Photo)above.

I have loaded on this head my Canon 7D with battery grip, 100-400MM lens, 560 Flash with better beamer.

I have heard some great things about the really right stuff line but can't speak from experience. I also have the head below a Flashpoint gimbal head, not as good as the Wimberley but a good substitute on a budget ($239 Adorama) I think I like it better than the Acratech.

Shamus: I have this head which works nicely for moderate weights, Acratech GV2. Not a lot of weight.
