Did you participate in a Drama?
by Hecce ini am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.
camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.
we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.

If I recall correctly the first drama was about 1966. In Baltimore, actress Joyce Holden played Potiphar's wife. The details are fuzzy after all these years. Maybe someone else can shed light.
Did get to mouth some parts over the years and you would recognize my voice in several of the first dramas released on tape for the masses. Prior to that they didn't want anyone having copies of the tapes sent to the conventions for use during the 'performances'. The convention office was always certain to get the tapes back and return them to Crooklyn. I never understood their fear of tape recorded copies of the programs in those days, other than control.

What kind of person was Nathan H. Knorr?
by Hecce inwe have several examples in the forum showing that president knorr was not a loving and caring person; one that impressed me was the one about the elderly bethelite that was put out on the streets until his death due to a disagreement with knorr.
i bring to your attention an incident that happened in the country of honduras back in the 50s, it has to do with immoral conduct by a branch overseer and his subsequent disfellowshiping.
i am not critical of the end result of his conduct but rather the salacious and detailed report of this matter putting in the open the details for the whole world to see.

Nathan Knorr was a pompous ass. He showed respect for few but expected all to be agog at his stature in the org while feigning a false humility in his speeches. He expected the thousands to swoon at his boring overtime convention prattle. A pock on him.
Can you tell we had no use for him?

Note it says "initially" one standard kit will be available. Do they have further plans for TV worship connected to Bethell? Perhaps soon there will only be video programs at the dumbhall.
In the US on big supplier of equipment was Audio Acoustics. Since I don't have an access code to the jw.org supplier list I can't tell if there are others. I still get periodic e-mails from Audio Acoustics with announcements and such. -

All of a sudden the choir has taken on these phony and forced smiling poses. Where is David Splane doing his horrid attempt at conducting? -

What's next?
by Grey Goose inhi everyone.. thanks for the welcome a few days ago, it was nice to hear your support.. this is a pure speculation thread, but what do you think the next changes are going to be?.
will we see tything come into play?.
more evangelical style meetings?.

Perhaps that is why they are constantly recycling the same old crusty "spiritual food" and dumbing down the meetings. This way any goofball with a tongue and lips can conduct meeting parts.
Darkknight757 if you've ever watched a Mormon service on BYUTV I can see where the dubs are headed. I can't imagine sitting through a typical Mormon meeting, same old monotone and singsong voices, boring cheap suits and regimental ties. Doesn't take much to prepare. And now with dub TV they can tune in and snooze in the seats.

I almost died laughing at the meeting last night. OMG WTF is going on? Have I been away this long?
by macys inok so most of you guys know already that i am going through the reinstatement process for my parents but i do have a partially sinister plan which i will not mention here since someone told me that there are b-lites that read boards like this.
last night and it was the funniest experience i have ever seen.
besides that the brother doing the sound and video screwed up the whole thing when showing the videos and it took 3 brothers to fix it after 10 minutes, the whole thing was a joke.

Is that David Splane conducting the choir again? Doesn't know a thing about conducting music other than the same boring motions. As if he read a Mormon book on basic conducting and they threw him out there to wave his arms. And btw the choir director stops conducting during the interludes when the choir is to be silent. Just saying David.
As to the silhouettes, weren't they only during the parts with the sisters demonstrating door to door presentations? Couldn't dare have sisters look like they're teaching, now could we?
