  Why attack?

  as someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!

  ) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.

  i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

  My reason is that they lie, lie, lie, about everything from their credentials to what they do with our money.
  I expect to be lied to in business, but not from a 'religion'.
  And they split up families.
  They change doctrine constantly, and expect you to keep up, to swear loyalty to the old ideas, and when they change, to discard them and swear loyalty to the new.
  And if you pay attention, you might let your minor child bleed to death, or watch your spouse slowly die in front of you, when they refuse blood to 'stay loyal to Jehovah'.
  There; how is that for reasons to 'attack'?

  We are here to tell the truth about our experience being a JW, that is our experience.

  Pizza Heaven

  i haven't had pizza in absolute ages!!!

  today our boss bought in 20 various pizzas to say "well done" for the month of march.

  i've eaten like 5 slices already.

  I was a pizza cook at one time, and one I made at home was this: shredded chicken with sliced artichoke hearts and crumbled feta, with a sprinkling of sliced black olives. I like a light tomato sauce (traditional Italian spice) and some parmesan cheese for a base, but you decide.

  Make sure you coat the pan with EVOO, so that the crust is nice and crispy, and cook at a high temp. 425 - 450F. ENJOY!

  Mmm, Za! And yes, the traditional Italian, omg ............ so good and miss that.
  
  I can no longer enjoy Za because of certain digestive problems, but yes, people, make your own! ENJOY! ;d
  
  Thanks. sweetie, for loving the Za. Hey, we should make up some kinda goddess (like the flying spaghetti monster) for Pizza .. hmmm, that's a thought!
  
  Oh, and a thin crust, oh yes, is best. Traditional, brushed with the best of EVOO and spiced, or world-cultural, with a meal on top ... either way, it's a nutritious and healthy food if prepared in the proper manner.

  You said there is value in suffering. I am asking you if there is value in child rape. Why are you refusing to answer whether or not rape, a form or sufering, has value?

  When you click on "PrtScrn", the screenshot is saved to your notepad.

  Opening the Windows paint program, allows you to save the screenshot from your notepad to the Paint program, as an image.

  From there, you can save to your hard drive. This is very useful and easy, but seems to be a 'well hidden secret'. Thanks to majorgeeks.com for teaching me about 'how to save a screenshot'.

  Hit the "F" key that is labelled "PrtScrn".

  Then, open your "paint" program, hit "paste", and voila, there is the page!

  Now, you can Save it, Print it, or whatever.

  To address the OP,

  The religion protects pedophiles. I have been an advocate for adult survivors of child sexual abuse for over 20 years, and the Watchtower organization is now on my radar.

  Is Reporting Child Abuse Mandatory?

  was reading the comments section of the guardian story about candace conti.. an apologist or two were defending the inaction of elders - comparing it to attorney/client privilege.. commonwealth countries do not have the same blanket coverage that is appealed to by wts.. when searching whether or not reporting is mandatory in canada, came across this site:.

  I live in Canada.

  When I took training as a crisis intervenor for a sexual assault crisis line, we trained with the RCMP and also a lawyer in some of our sessions.

  Reporting is mandatory in Canada for all adults. To my knowledge, there have been very few instances where someone was actually charged for failure to report. However, the responsibility to report is considered greater when a person works with children, or in a counseling, teaching, or any position where a child may be looking to them for support.

  Even on the crisis line, we had to identify to any minor that we had to report any call where they told us about being raped/molested, immediately and without exception.
