Okay, I am now officially craving garlic bread, WITH cheese. This is NOT fair, considering that I can't eat bread, BUT i can google a pic of it, and fantasize that I am eating it. But do not forget. It *must* be garlic cheese bread (preferably Parmesan, but mozza will suffice).

Office Jargon, drives me nuts
by punkofnice in'granular' seems to be the latest buzz word going around my office.
previously it was 'appetite'.. abstract words that appear to be designed to make the person saying it appear powerful and part of the 'team'.. as lord sugar has observed before; why not just speak english and say what you mean.. office jargon really annoys me.
i had enough loaded language and jargon in the disgusting jw cult..

punkofnicea minute agoI think I'll try and start my own jargon....hmmmmm, where to begin? You already have it, my dear friend.
I have my own - it's a mix of ST (especially Spock), and may seem silly but, SW (move along, nothing to see here), and my own unique take on life. I believe in Blue ........ whether it's my soul's companion (RIP Precious Blue), the beauty of 'cobalt' glass, or the healing influence of lavender, I seek the "blue".

Finding the value of God; Isn't it better to believe in a deity?
by Caupon inthe question as to what believing in this entity called god entails is a fairly important question that needs to be answered first.
to me, the key difference between a universe in which god exists versus one where god doesn't lies in the idea of teleology.
in my view, a universe with god entails some sort of process towards an end, an end which can be characterized with words such as bliss and unity and others.

smiddy, we're not THAT old, haha! Perhaps. But anyone who is a film buff, whether 18 or 80, will know about Harvey. : ))
Clarence - Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey, "It's a Wonderful Life", and Clarence is his guardian angel. It's a B&W, Frank Capra film. I watch that, and the version of A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim, every Xmas. : D

smiddy ,,, I liked Clarence better * grins *
[Edit: though I loved Harvey, and ONLY Jimmy Stewart could have played in that flick.].

I can't deny the sense of calm I've felt after praying, for example.
This is a good example.
If you learn about 'mindful meditation' (ie, google or visit your local library if you like books, and find credible sources, read, and make a logical conclusion), you will find that it accomplishes the same thing. In fact, it is recommended by medical practitioners as a valid form of relaxation for people with MI and cancer.
There is a strong argument to be made for 'prayer as meditation' ... ie, when praying, you enter a stage of dissociation that is akin to meditating, and the mind empties, the heart rate slows, and voila - calm.
Prayer = a religious form of meditation. *
.
* It should be noted that some religions validate and include meditation as part of their practice. xx tal -

How about a garlic necklace? The garlic bread is so "Anthony Morris", and hey, the necklace could really send a message. : D
