David_Jay - Thanks. Paul said he was writing a paper. If I was writing a paper, the word I would use would be isolationist.

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

Bloodless Medicine....not all its cracked up to be.
by Lee Elder inthis is a pretty good example of the limitations of "bloodless medicine", and why the informed choice should always be "blood conservation" medicine, which retains the safety net of blood transfusion when medically required.
sadly, the watchtower fails to inform jws regarding these important limitations, and their potentially disastrous consequences.. http://www.dailyreportonline.com/id=1202750028414/jury-awards-100k-to-family-of-jehovahs-witness-who-died-after-refusing-blood-transfusion?mcode=0&curindex=0&curpage=3&slreturn=20160118223352.

How JW ignore the help Felicity Sneesby got from the "World"
by StephaneLaliberte inlately, in the february broadcast program, at the 46 minutes mark, the watchtower provides the story of felicity sneesby.
this report focuses on how, despite her serious illness, she, along with her family, has always placed her faith in jehovah and how happy she is for being part of jehovah’s family.. i am shocked by how this jw’s report completely ignores the help that this family has received from this system of things through the years.
for instance, they slept at the ronald mcdonald house on at least 6 separate occasions and for long periods of time.

Tornintwo - don't forget that they get the insurance money, too. And the homeowner pays for the materials, WTBTS gets free labour.
Disasters are a win-win for the b'Org.

I heard a knock on the door, and...
by rebel8 in..."we are"--at this point i began shaking my head no--"stopping by to share a scripture.".
she had the wt and bible in her hand.. "please do not come to this house ever again.".
"ok we will put you on the do not call list.

Right on, rebel8. This was my last encounter.
"You are Jehovah's Witnesses, right?"
"Yes.""You are not welcome here. DON'T come back." *shuts door*
Then, I called the KH and left a msg. with my address and requested a DNC note on the territory card. They didn't come back.
If I decide to confront or have any discourse with them, it will be at their KH or trolley. My home is my sanctuary, no JWS allowed.

Like PT Barnum said, "There's a sucker born every minute."
Russell was a real slime. I'm finding these stories about my roots very interesting! It helps me put together the incredibly bizarre picture that is my family history. Thanks for the hard work, very interesting. xx

From JWTalk, Some of the R&F are not too pleased with this 'idol worship'.
I preach on twitter. Many apostates have posted that we have made our own idols - Watchtower jewelry/ pins, etc... They have a picture of a cross on a chain next to a lapel pin and ask, "what's the difference"? I didn't believe them about Watchtower jewelry or pins. I do now and I am shocked.
Just know that apostates are watching and are using our use of such things against us.

Canadians - please sign petition to stop paid blood donor clinics
by OrphanCrow inblood saves lives.
a safe blood supply is vital for the health of everybody.. in canada, the province with the highest rates of hiv and hep c is saskatchewan.
and it is in this province, run by a right wing government, where for-profit blood donation will be rolled out.. http://regina.ctvnews.ca/company-that-pays-for-blood-donations-opening-first-sask-clinic-1.2741056.

tgnd - that is misleading. The Red Cross bought blood from the USA and Russia, not from donors. Paying blood donors is new to Canada. That's why the business was taken away from The Red Cross and Canadian Blood Services was instituted.
Two decades ago, 30,000 Canadians, recipients of blood and plasma products, were infected with HIV and hepatitis C. Some of the tainted blood was purchased from “blood brokers” whose supplies came from Arkansas prisons, L.A.’s “skid row” and Russian funeral homes. Confronted with a blood shortage and weighing the odds, Health Canada and the Canadian Red Cross, then stewards of Canada’s blood system, accepted it anyway.
