You forgot to add that he also said "Until NOBODY has guns".........

I wasn't going to comment, but since you seem intent on pushing the point ... the man is obviously severely traumatized and can hardly speak without breaking down. I have to wonder if he is still in shock. Those are the words of a fresh victim, and emotionally charged.

You've really shown a good point - the gun lobby plays on people's fears, in addition to the usual "we're AMERICAN and it's in our Constitution!" Whoop-tee-doo. You live by a 250 YO statement about how the citizenry may need to have a militia in case the government is ruling by tyranny and must be stopped.

Uh, hello! Anyone who DOES stockpile weapons, and wants overthrow the government is considered a domestic terrorist - the American people have no power. You think a handgun will prevent government takeover of anything? ahahahaha! Sheeple.

GodZoo, I get your point in a general way, but looking at this specific review, and its irrational, disconnected spewing of hate, it seems to me that it's most likely what Punk suspects. It's neither constructive nor is it artistic criticism. It is more like hate speech.

I've had many people like my sculptures, and sold 100++. Not everyone loves them, that is true. If someone said my sculptures looked like something you could buy at the $$ store, manufactured by the thousands, and were poorly crafted, copies of XXX artist, I just *might* feel the need to vent.

Especially if I suspected *that* person was the failed artist, that couldn't pay people to take his work, who would do / say anything to put me down. (edit, and it's very hurtful)

That's my take on Punky's rant.

Vidiot - anger = fear and / or pain ; rants are usually inspired by a wound that is being poked, and very human. Especially when the person ranting feels misjudged, or knows they are wrong and are using bluster as a deflection of their insecurities about their beliefs or perceptions of unfair treatment.

But hell to the yeah, use spell check if you want your rant to be read. :P

Yup. BB, I don't think anyone should hold a grudge against their parents. It's the 21st century now, and we know the benefits of leaving it alone - just like we know that tonsillectomy isn't always necessary, nor antibiotics for ear infections. It's time for a change. It's genital mutilation.

Can I guess? That's not from the NWT? I should check my obscure translation, and see what it says. It's kinda interesting, the differences in translations.

I always laugh when people like Oprah say "money doesn't make you happy" - it's true, but poverty can cause a lot of misery, too. *Enough* money to eat well, and live safely, can make all the difference in the world, and easier to choose happiness.

its the begining of the end for jws in exjw websites i have found all these branch headquaters have closed down.

We have what the Catholic survivors do not - because of our small community, we are able to support each other.

Being so isolated (unlike my RC or Protestant compas, who had school friends, education, etc.), made an internet search for 'others' like me, imperative. When I got my new PC, the first thing I Googled was "Jehovah's Witnesses", and there was JWD, my tribe.

Now, we have an huge community, not just here, but on other sites and facebook. It's a wonderful and amazing thing. Such a contrast from the 70s, when I was kicked out, and no support - zip, zilch, nada - from other exJWS.

I had some wonderful non JWS who helped me out, though! And life was pretty damn good. Challenging? For sure. But worth it. I've never looked back.

To all lurkers and newbies ... yes, you can do this. And you can choose happiness. No life is perfect; illness strikes, jobs may suck; the same ups and downs that the JWS have. But I can now 'roll with the punches'. There is no one I must report to, no one monitoring my every move, indeed, my every thought.

As Oscar Wilde said "The best revenge is to live well." It's written in my 25YO address book, and words to live by. xx
