Everyone is Equal in God's Loving Organization
by new boy inthey said we are all the same in god’s eyes.
that everyone is equal.
to prove this they call everyone “brother and sister.” sadly, this really isn’t the case.

Peony,
You're right, I'm sorry. I can't walk in your shoes, or know the pressure. Can't imagine being a JW wife, let alone an elder's, having left at 18. But this is not about me - once again, my sincere apology. xx

Mixed tapes are what you give a friend for Xmas. A playlist is what a DJ or a band has for a gig, and always has been.
It's a great playlist for a party, and the last 3 songs are kinda interesting... quite the 'theme' going on. Note that at the end of the party .... The Thrill is Gone. lol!
Strategy for Mixed CD or tape: 2 fast and 1 slow, as musicians do, you mix it up so the audience doesn't get bored. xx

I want to go on a working holiday visa to australia, im 19 years old and cannot hold my focus in uni because i was depressed but now mended
by AmIright inso i finished my final year and was forced to attend university even though i was in a crippling depression in my final year, dropped out but attained a high enough mark to get my first choice in uni.
long story short, i wanted to go travelling before uni to broaden my perspective and for a chance to be free and travel australia.
however i'm only 19 with experience in mostly farming and small company manufacturing i don't think i would be equip to get a job to sustain my travel.

September is when students flood the cities and take all the part time jobs, so you may do better another time of year. OTOH, there are always wait-staff, line chef and dishwashing jobs to be had in restaurants. It's not like you are looking for career experience. There are also temporary employment agencies, where you can get day-labour.
Do you live in a Commonwealth nation? If you do, you can get a special youth working visa for Australia, England, Canada, and other Commonwealth nations for 1 or 2 years, depending on the country, as long as you are 29 or under. DO IT!

I sat in there and watched a poor sister with about 4 children struggling to find seats...she looked close to tears. Her face lit up when she saw all these empty rows in the Royal Box........Trouble is eagle eyed attendant saw her making a bee line and raced down to the opening to stop her getting in! (Too unworthy) She burst into tears, it was awful...
Wow, I bet she was happy when you rushed down to help her! Right?

And just like fashion, 'what's old is new again'.
In the 60s/70s comic books were forbidden, except for Archie. That's why I never had any of the Batman (who, by the way, has no 'super powers').
Wonder Woman would be, I suppose, like 'nephilim', considering she is Amazon/Goddess. ; )

Has Anybody Hear a Rumour That Prince Died?
by cofty inwhy do people care so much about celebrities?
-
talesin
If a 'celebrity' dies, it's no biggie to me. If a talented songwriter and musician dies, there are always people whose hearts have been touched by their music. Most people find some music that expresses their emotions - it's about empathy. Not a quality that everyone shares, I guess.

Is Larry Graham an Elder?
by ShirleyW ini think he is, but i"m not too sure.
just wondering because looking at that purple pimp outfit with hat that he wore to prince's memorial, i wonder if he ever gave a talk wearing the same outfit, when i've read here that some brothers were talked to for wearing a pastel colored shirt while giving a talk..

My father had a red & white plaid polyester suit. I kid you not. It was the 70s! :P

Lennon and McCartney could so easily have been writing for the Watchtower...
by The Rebel inin fact just like the watchtower, i've no idea what they were writing about half the time.
all that rubbish about " i am the walrus" and eleanor rigby keeping her teeth in a jam jar or something, and what "lucy the in the sky with diamonds" means i do not know!
anyway, i mention the above because shortly after i quit meetings, beattle loving brother, ian x also, stopped attending meetings, and i watched him transform himself in to a, scruffy bearded, hippyish, beer drinking slob, ( translation a great guy) .

@ Heaven Back in the day (late 70s), I saw Joe Cocker at the Halifax Forum. Paid $18. *huge smile* He was a great performer; it was a night to remember.
He had a big hit with this Beatles song (hehehe); immortalized on his live "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" album.

I found this factoid on Wiki interesting, not that it's relevant to your thread. I wonder if Drake is a JW? Ahahaha, nothing would surprise me.
.
Graham is the father of singer/songwriter and producer Darric Graham. He is also the uncle of the Canadian rapper and actor Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake.
