  and gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual organizations are shocked, and some gay people.

  are reporting the movie to the local police.. the official spokesman of the dutch branch office in emmen declared that the movie is.

  Sounds like the JWS to me - publicly condemn (punishable by figurative 'death' of banishment), yet there is a double standard.   Throwing them off tall buildings ... y-e-e-es,, I see what you mean ....

  That's really because what you said is incorrect and irrelevant.
  Surely the WatchTower's position and whether that is "news" is what this is all about?

  Really? So they do not believe that you can 'commit' adultery in your heart, and that Jehovah judges your desires?

  And my friend's suicide note means nothing to you, obviously.  

  Once again, it's WTS double-speak. "We will accept you, as long as you don't commit the physical act." and OTOH "You are judged for your secret desires". (eg, masturbating to a famous celebrity - man-to-man)
  
  Let's see the change in doctrine.  (rhetorical, I don't care, and neither does anyone else)

  with last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.

  damn it!!!

  am i alone in this resistance???!!!.

  We accept people who are gay, but according to biblical precepts hear a man and a woman to be together. "

  THIS is the lie that will do the most harm. It is also the difference between most Fundamentalist, Bible-thumpers, and Jehovah's Witnesses.  (Some great articles in the Dutch press, check Orbi's thread.) If their lord Jehoho, truly sees "into the hearts and minds", then It knows that the person is gay, whether they remain chaste or marry. It makes NO difference.
  

  Going through puberty, being gay, and believing that you will be destroyed at Armaggeddon, is too much to bear. You can't win.
  
  That is the real problem with this video - it is indoctrinating pre-cognitive children into a belief system that leads to depression and often, suicide.

  Both are told, it is NOT your fault, never.
  
  BUT, they are both instructed to talk to their parents, get counsel from the elders, and pray.

  No mention of going to the hospital and have a rape kit.

  No mention of REPORTING to the police.

  No professional counselling for either victim.

  STILL not reporting!!!

  DY - I think the fact that it's their 'featured video' this month, on their website which is designed for public consumption (that is true, right?), plays into it. It's also been uploaded to youtube.  And the WTBTS knows darn well that it would be.  The Netherlands has a much more secular society than the USA (as do most western lands), and gays are actually equal.

  One of the concerns voiced, is this: What does this video do to a 5 YO whose orientation may be gay? They will be taught a core belief - that gays will be destroyed at Armaggeddon. Now, fast forward a few years to puberty - can you imagine what is going on in that poor kid's head? Knowing they are only attracted to the same sex, yet having to suppress that, and pretend.

  But WAIT! Jehovah *knows* what is in your heart and mind! So, even if you are chaste, or marry and walk the *straight* and narrow, Jah will KNOW you have homosexual thoughts. Teens have a hard time anyhow - imagine also bearing the burden, that how you are made, will never be acceptable to Jehovah.
  
  It's a real concern, even if you accept the doctrine, or believe that homosexual acts are wrong. It is fact that sexual orientation is not a choice. Puberty is hard enough, let alone being a JW (guilt about everything). The guilt was bad for me, but for my gay pioneer buddy (no, we did not know he was gay before we found the suicide note), it was too much.

  That's not an attack - just explaining why the community finds indoctrination of such young children, to be a bad thing.
