that's a good idea - I didn't even know what the word meant 3 months ago, now it's lookin' pretty good. I'm not really sure, but I'm thinking it involves music, partying, possibly camping out? Sounds like a plan - maybe summer of 2004?

with so many new ones, and not so new ones, its kinda hard to get to know people.
i'm just wondering, what do you like to do besides post on the jwd discussion board?.
me, during the spring - fall months like my yard & gardening.
I do sculpting, painting, drawing; love to watch movies, have coffee/drinks/whatever with friends, play cards (crib, 45s, hearts) & chess and ANYTHING TO DO WITH MUSIC that I can afford/or is free. I also cut hair for my friends who have no $$$. Also volunteer - just joined the local Anti-Poverty Network tonite!!

I saw a flick called "Leaving Normal". Isn't Normal a town somewhere in the midwest? Nope, I'm not a town.

man this stuff is great eh!
what a great time of year, all the local farms in my area have there corn out and i pick it up on the way home.. today at one of the local vegetable stands i saw a sign that said "please do not husk the corn" i thought this was awesome, i get so bored watching and waiting for people husking the corn.. why not just pick it and when you get home it's more of a surprise!.
i have found that if at the top of the husk is a clean white it usually a great cob!.
corn - peaches & cream w/ lotsa butter & pepper
(had some for dinner last nite - yum, yum!)

when we were kids, our mothers would treat our cuts and grazes with an antiseptic cream called germoline.
it's still widely used today.. to mask the antiseptic smell, thereby making the product more acceptable to kids, the manufacturers would mix in sassafras to the finished product.
sassafras has a very distinctive smell.. root beer also contains sassafras, which duly imparts it's distinctive aroma to the drinker.. so, to your average brit anyway, drinking root beer is akin to swallowing antiseptic cream, because it smells just the same!.

I never thought of cream soda! Yum, gotta get me some.
mustang,
sorry dude - used the ole' iodine this summer when berry picking - it does 'look' black, but once applied on the skin, dark orange! (btw, my dad, the 'iodine lover' also has a bottle of colourless iodine - I KID YOU NOT - isn't that wild?)
respectfully,

tks for askin - I took it from "taliesin" which is one of the names given Merlin in Mists of Avalon; always loved the Arthurian legend. It is so much about honour, friendship, and MOA is one of my favorite books, Merlin one of my favorite characters; such respect for the earth, animals and the 'old ways'. I thought the spelling would be easier, but turns out to be just confusing.
Merlin - he is 'not of this world', which is how I have always felt.
ps. it's also the name of Frank Lloyd Wright's home.

that's a real shame - root beer floats are great! Do you have 'floats' in England? A scoop of ice cream in a mug, fill it up with pop (try cola since you don't like root beer). Not as good as a single malt, but yummy!

could that orange stuff be called ... iodine? That's what we used, and it stung like a SOB, but was a really effective disinfectant. ps. it also takes the itch out of bug bites better than calamine, and doesn't sting the bites.
