She is a brave person. Not only confronting the cult, but bucking a lot of powerful people in Hollywwod.
I'm looking forward to seeing her interview. She seems to be a person who finds it hard to deceive, and speaks truth. GO LEAH!

*pumps fist in the air*.
it's about time.

It's about time. Thanks to the Netherlands for getting this ball rolling! One more thing to admire, wow.
http://www.nltimes.nl/2015/10/22/hague-court-deals-blow-to-scientology-tax-free-status/
The Dutch branch of the Church of Scientology has lost its tax status as “public welfare institution”, and the tax benefits that go along with it, in a ruling made by the court in The Hague on Wednesday.
The court decided that the sales of the Church’s expensive courses and therapy sessions are clearly aimed at making a profit, and thus it does not belong on the tax authorities’ charity list.
i was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".
of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy, with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.
i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".
Amazing Grace and the Huron Christmas Carol - haunting melodies.
Clambake - I remember our local band .... they spent about an hour or two 'tuning up' their instruments before they played at weddings and 'get-togethers'. : P I did love the fiddling music, when they finally got started.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/jehovah-s-witness-grandparents-ordered-to-keep-faith-to-themselves-1.3282193 .
a pair of devout jehovah's witnesses have been ordered by a b.c.
provincial court judge not to talk about religion in front of their four-year-old granddaughter.. the couple lost their bid for unsupervised access to the girl because they insisted on taking her to worship at their faith's kingdom hall despite the repeated objections of the child's mother.. the girl is identified only as a.w.
OY - the father was a JW and told his parents about the child 3 weeks after the birth. Then, HE was disfellowshipped.
Mother NOT a JW, nor is she married to the biological father (check the initals!) but let grandparents have visitation until .................
Reading comprehension ...... ack.
It sounds like the grandparents are trying to 'replace' their son, lost to Satan (hahaha) with their grandchild (not hahaha, but manipulative and disgusts me.)
The battle is the culmination of a saga that began when the child's biological dad, L.R., told his parents he had fathered a child three weeks after A.W. was born.
L.R. was "disfellowshipped" from the Jehovah's Witness faith, a type of religious excommunication. He testified that he has little contact with A.R. and B.R. He also pays no child support and has no parental responsibilities.
A.R. and B.R. were determined to have contact with their granddaughter, and the child's mother felt it important for them to be part of their lives. She previously allowed them unsupervised access.
i awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.
Happy Special Day! and for the rest of your life. :...... freedom! : ))
good morning.
i was just checking out the forum and something occured to me.
jws simply cannot be christians.
D-D and the OP:
That being said, the JWS are far from unique. I can't think of *any* Xtian religion that practices the ways of the early worshippers.
first off, i certainly agree the jw's are a cult.
but i'm sensitive to black-and-white thinking now.. so, where do they rank on the scale?
think of a cultish religion scale from 0-10.. consider the likes of unitarian universalism vs baptist vs amish vs charles manson.. where do you think jw's fall on the scale?.
I give them a 10.
The image that really sticks in my mind is that of the child martyrs on the cover of their Awake! (TM) magazine.
i know this question has popped up from time to time but i really would like to know how you guys, those that no longer believe, came to that conclusion?
was it the wts and all its crap?
was it something you read?
Though I didn't get to finish High School (as a kid), I loved science, and learned about evolution in school. Also, I questioned how God could LOVE us, and allow us to suffer so much.
When I left the JWS, at age 18, I investigated other beliefs (Xtianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Daoism, etc.), and realized that John Lennon "God is a concept by which we measure our pain" and Marx "the opium of the people" were right. By my early 20s, I was over it. It was an easy transition for me. : )
in page 10 of the correspondence guidelines, in the section of apostasy" i found the following:.
one who has sincere doubts orquestions should be kindly aided inthe spirit of galatians.... i am forced to conclude that many of you didn't get any aid because your doubts were fake.
so according to the wt manual, your main sin may have not been doubting, but faking having doubts.
Let's go back to your original assumption,,, that we are all 'apostates'.
Some of us, are just 'normal', and don't want to be a JW ....... ie, we don't CARE about the JWS, we don't WANT to be part of it, and can't give a FF (sorry, that's a north American term) about the JW or 'apostacy' or any of that shyte.
My label is not 'apostate' .......... it is 'average person...... Jehovah's WHO? They have no meaning in my life.'
Thanks! : )
