I love that story. Well, today my hubby told me "youre just as beautiful as the day I met you" and believe me, he aint the wordy type like that. It came at such a great time, as I had been feelig down about a few things. Funny hu Sparky, little things people say and do can help you through. Or in your case, guess it was a big thing, Loretta Lynn, very, very cool! She's a legend.

Jehovah's Witness! Nothing but a period in the world novel.
by free2beme inoften, more so then not, my former witness friends have the habit of wondering why more people do not hear or know about things witnesses do in modern history.
yet in time, from being on boards like this one and from knowing far more people that are not witnesses, then ones that are or were.
the crazy acts of the early 1900's that gained public attention, were replaced with a more invisable conformed organization that really does very little to be noticed.

I have to wonder how they feel they are accomplishing the world wide preaching work, when no one in the world even knows who they are, or what they preach.

Other Types of Abuse...
by RichieRich inanyone who regularly reads this site is well aware of the sexual abuse scandals amongst jw congregations worldwide.
(for those not familiar, visit www.silentlambs.org).
not to make light of those who were sexually abused, but i think there is an epedimic of other types of abuse in the org.. how many here have been, or know of, someone who was "spanked" regularly and excessively?

Sorry everyone for all that you had to go through gowing up.
Ms. Froggie,
and put as many tracksuit pants and clothes on as possible, so as to get maximum padding for minimum pain
this reminds me of how my brother used to put a baggie pair of pants on, and then put a thick book inside his pants, so he couldnt feel the belt.
And your round table family studies, sound just as loving as mine were growing up. My brother had dislexia, and it was just agonizng, my dad would make him read outloud from the bible, or witchtower, and inevitably he would stumble on his words. I never forgot the time my dad threw a shoe at hime from across the room, and hit him in the head with it, for doing this.
Guess what, I brought this up to my brother, who is now 35, and he SAYS, he doesn't remember it.

One day people will find out that the earth, not the moon, is made of cheese, then they will start eating it. Everybody will go nuts w their pizzas and grilled cheeses, until it's too late, the earth is gone, leaving just a bunch of overwieght people wieghtlessly floating around. They will probably end up forming a new ring around saturn, being called the domino ring.

Good observation Free2bme. You know what, you got me thinking. I have either mentioned, or heard others mention JW's sometimes, and others will reply with a "WHO" "WHAT". I can't believe there are even lots of people who never heard of witnesses.

OMG, what a story. I have a 3 year old, and can really relate to you. Glad it all turned out ok for the poor little sweetie. I had my first broken bone with my daughter when she was 2 years old. She broke her thumb flipping a cartwheel.

OH my god it's moving all by itself!!
by hamsterbait ini have just discovered that i can move the cursor on my screen by moving the fingertips of my left hand about one centimeter above my laptop sensor pad.
i don't think it's demunzz, but maybe the electrical field of my body interacting in some way.. if any part of my body is touching the computer it doesn't happen.
i can also make my face tingle when i hold my right hand over my head about five inches above where my soft spot was as a baby.. i often get electrical shocks from the fittings in department stores.. any theories - has anyone else found this??.

Never mind, that's totally different from what I thought you meant in your headline
LOL, Julia! I was going to ask Hamster to define "it". But I have been trying to keep my mind out of the gutter.
