Viviane, it was about faith. You feel that belief in God is wrong and totally stupid because you yourself don't believe God exists, right? And don't tell me you don't because if you didn't you wouldn't be constantly saying I'm a nutterball. Well belief in God and doctrines is faith in which you don't think is right so you feel it's gracious to treat me and anyone who has it like we're beneath you or something. This isn't dishonesty on my part as I've a firm believer and have no problem letting others know. You only say it's dishonest because you don't believe in God so stop saying I'm dishonest. Your failure to see that you are in fact a positivist with not even courtesy to respect another's belief that's not your own is astonishing.

What is the purpose of life?
by slimboyfat inwhile reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.
because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".
i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

Formerbrother, you seem very confused but I'm here to help. Obviously, his true worshippers wouldn't be worshipping man such as yourself. You belong not to Jehovah but to a group of false sheep with no morals not even towards children. Island Man pointed it out well as the Lord's true sons would be people like myself who don't necessarily have a religion but have acquired deep spirituality without he helpings of another man-made entity. I still attend Church on special days and I know Lord is with me there to.
It might be wonderfully helpful to re-read Exodus chapter four as that can help those revitalize their beliefs. I love that chapter is it shows that God will use whatever it takes to give us happiness as he did to Moses here. And also don't forget to pray religiously because if you don't, you'll never be able to relax he way you were meant to. But most importantly, live everyday to bring out what Christ taught and to make him, the fathers and yourself happy. To many on this forum have let their faith dwindle so easily, which is depressing. It's understandable that this happened but they must try harder to get their faith back which is a lot of work but you must be humble and allow God's power among you.

Should I chuckle, Viviane? Did you really just say to have respectable beliefs in order to be respected? That just proves I wasn't dishonest in how you as so adiment that faith is wrong you don't have the ability to respect others faith even though it isn't wrong and isn't hurting you or anyone. You think it's wrong based on your own beliefs which is fine but when you treat others like myself like we are below you because we still believe in the bible, it just shows the type of person you are. You love to trample others on things you think are incorrect about them.

Beautiful, the positivist tells me I'm dishonest again when she evidently thinks nothing of God and because of that feels in the right to call others crazy. Viviane you are definitely a positivist because you clearly don't have the ability to think without that preconceived science philosophy. That makes sense because despite disagreeing with those who believe in the Lord such as myself, you can't even respect our beliefs even though you think it's wrong. What's worse is that other users promote that contempt along with you. That is what's truly "nutters". But this is the internet afterall, full of rudeness, so what should I expect? May God be with us all.

Viviane so anyone who disagrees with you is a nutterball? You and others love to call people crazy just because they have faith and you don't. That's a form of discrimination.

John_Mann you have a good point. It's too bad some people cannot get your point no matter how simple it is. Don't pay Viviane no mind, all she does is assert that you're wrong and have no undertanding no matter what you say. By the way, this entire thread you've had some interesting perspectives on the matter and you have to be applauded for your case I nice manner.
I'm a youth of God and he wanted our purpose to be hapiness. The best way we can be happy is to give him the best we can in our life, relationships, and actions. That explains it the best way the his holy power in me could. Good night.

The problem of sex (or why I'm not an atheist)
by EdenOne inas i write this under the shadow of the walls of saint jorge's castle in lisbon, two very bored jws are standing just five metres away from me with a literature cart .... in my journey away from jwism i accepted evolution as a fact.
i also became anti-religion, agnostic and apatheist.
and, while i lean towards the persuasion of the atheist arguments, there are a few reasons that make it difficult for me to completely discard the notion of an intelligent origin of life.

It's only logical to assume that God created it, nicolaou. I and many other theists see the rapid onset of advanced humanity as harmonious with scripture’s account of the special creation of man in the image of the living God. A highlight of the genesis account is the creation of man in which the initial mention of the vast array of the creation of life forms concludes that God created man and woman to become many and feel the earth. His original plan for reproduction and gametes is very clear. Genesis 1:27 characterizes male and female reproduction as a divine plan originating in the mind of the Creator. The more we discover scientifically, the more it goes back to the bible.

It isn't a careless supposition at all. It's just them taking a look at the complexity of reproduction and realizing that it appears to be designed rather than come from superficial chance.

People hate God?
by looter init is a pain that certain individuals pride themselves on hating god, who created everything.
like it's understandable that you choose to not believe in him because of your selfishness or thinking skills but to hate him is forcing it a bit.
i'm very thankful that those such as myself have the courage to believe in the lord.

First of all, who said I of all people hate the other Gods? I don't hate them, it's called respect. Don't put words in my mouth like that. Anyone here who says that Yeshua is a fictional character is so blasphemous it's a shame. You all should be ashamed to say stuff like that especially when you believed in it so firmly once upon a time. It makes me so sick to my stomach to read that nonsense. How could he be a fictional character when a you atheists voice your own displeasure against him for not saving someone in your life when you were probably the person that started it and was bitter. If God is bitter it's because of the people here who are bitter toward him. Why are you guys so angry? Just tell the truth and say that you hate the creator and want to change.
And just why would it take exhaustive investigation for someone to find out they disbelieve in God? To me, that's called self-propaganda. That means a person must have got used to the ways of his upbringing and attempted to do the same thing to themselves to achieve something better. But they don't realize they just made their whole life worse. They did all that purposely because they chose to not be faithful and strong. They let the cults ruin their perception of God beyond recovery, along with their own stubbornness and attempted to basically make it worse by participating in the knowing of what they might call evidence, or really just a reason to not trust in God. How sad. And I would hope everyone can learn from this but a lot of the atheists on this forum are just too set in their own ways. Again, sad.

Benefits to Faith over Reason
by cobweb ini wrote this earlier for my own benefit in order to get some thoughts straight in my head.
it is just my own personal pondering on what i think might be the motivating force behind having a faith.
it is not intended to attack, provoke or patronize anyone who has a belief and i hope it is not taken in that way.

It warms my heart to read this! It's like I just read my mind. You are absolutely correct in that people who do not have faith do not have happiness or overall good feelings inside of them. Personally, I feel most people who choose to disbelieve do so because it's basically the norm nowadays and everyone is doing it. This is just a classic case of conformity within the human race. As for honesty, most of us who have retained being a follower of Jesus are honest, it's just that most people don't give us a chance to voice our inner minds without objecting and attacking promptly.
