  Wow ! it's been two years today.

  i have been apart of the place two years and it has been the best thing that has happened to me .

  i have met ( not personally ) but in cyberspace some of the greatest people i could ever imagine to meet.

  you help each other and genuinely care for each other and are always there when someone is in need .

  My daughter has a brain tumor :(

  i am so terrified!.

  #2 daughter came home from college on 12/18 with a violent headache, nausea, neck pain and great fatigue.

  we took her to the dr. on the 20 and again on the 21st as she had kept nothing down for 3 days.

  So sorry for the emotional and physical pain you all must be going through. Glad you have a doctor you trust, which is so important in situations like this.

  Were you the owner of a lonely pet?

  i knew so many jw's who were always gone in the service or at the meetings and week end long conventions, that their poor pets were always alone.. i really felt sorry for these pets.

  i was no exception, and today regret leaving my pet alone all these days.. i guess that the jw org doesn't encourage jw's to have pets, because they want all the attention.. were your pets lonely in your jw days?.

  What...you heathen..you didn't take your dog in service with you.

  I made up for it by petting all the dogs and cats I could in service, even letting some of the dogs chase me back to the car.

  Silent prayers

  i always had a difficult time with the whole silent prayers issue.. i was always told since i was little that if you prayed to god that he always listens, and that you can pray silently in your head to yourself and he listens.

  to me that never quite made sense that he was reading my thoughts, are you sure he hears prayers?

  the answer, "if he created your brain, he can surely access it and any prayers" of course that was also used "if you are thinking bad thoughts god can read your mind" etc... and quote the scripture that even if you "lust after a woman" meaning no action, only thought - you were in big trouble!.

  Since examining my beliefs along with the bible I see prayer as providing comfort for those who hear it and maybe those who say it even more. I personally don't think God is recording our prayers.

  If God was to care as much as any parent then he would know what we need before we mention it verbally or even think it.

  Do you anticipate your childs needs and wishes and provide accordingly or wait for them to ask or even suffer before acting...if there is a God could he be less compassionate than us?

  Guess it's why I can't reconcile the bible and the world around me as being controlled by a loving God, time and unforseen occurrance befall us all, sometimes for the good and other times for the bad. It saddens me often to feel this way but breaking free from JW thinking has soured me on God.

  maybe it?s just me, but lately i?ve noticed a large army of wisconsinite apostates on this board.

  what do you say gang, can we take texas as the state with the most apostates?

  god knows we can drink a lot, we love to eat, and we know how to party.
