of all the neurotic and irrational ideas religion has come up with, the notion that god(s) intervenes in the flow of natural events due to a human's prayer has got to be one of the craziest.

well, the last few weeks have been entertaining... and they have reminded me that i have built up my life to a point where "former jw" is pretty low on the list of my defining attributes.
and that's good.. while i want to serve as a support for those re-creating themselves after leaving, i think the best way that i can do that is by being happy, successful, and fulfilled, rather than letting "former jw" move back to the top of the list.

the dictionary defines a friend as a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
this definition seems fair enough, but at what point do you really know someone, and how much trust is needed?
i think everyones ideas of what a friend should be like are broad.
Personally I have found that adult friends come and go..sometimes I miss them but I can just as easily rely on myself.....maybe its a sign of not truly trusting many people.
On the other hand I run into childhood friends which I have not seen in 10 to 15 yrs and after 5 minutes its like we were never apart. I thought maybe that was because as children you totally give your trust to each other and build something that seems to last longer.

had a talk yesterday with my son, ive read a book where the guy was talking about the australopithecus its weird how scientists are dealing with evolution statements.

Herk explain to me why God gave us the ability to pass on imperfection having it evolve into something progressively worse as time passes but decided not to let us pass on good traits that we accumulate over a lifetime.
I have a hard time to accept evolution as well but that is exactly what the Wt teaches with the concept of all creation being destroyed in the flood and the earth then repopulated with small number of animals and birds from the Ark.

I think maybe I'd want to die when I stop really living.....I've seen people I love die from cancer..it was terrible how they suffered.
If I could stay healthy all I would want is to die before my daughter,. because I don't think I could bare to see her die.
