by WireRider ininteresting movie about biblical cover-ups.
"no gospels in jesus's own words.
" the vatican, admittedly the largest collection of all christian scrolls and documents, would split up pages between translators to keep it secret.. theme: "split a piece of wood and i am there.

Noah's Ark
by Darkknight757 inso i'm reading the book "the atheist book of bible stories" and something just occurred to me.. noahs ark rested on the top of mount ararat.
how the hell did all the land animals, dinosaurs and other monsters get to ground level?
did noah and his family just push them off the mountain and hope for the best?

The question, for an Ark believer, is: how on earth did all the marsupial mammals go straight to the Australian continent right after the Flood, and ONLY in Australia? Did god's Spaceship transport them? The same question applies to all the indigenous species of far-away islands.
When I was researching my doubts, I tried to look up on Insight volumes. I, thought something would have been written. And it was written, alright. That's what I read, in the article about flood or sth, as I recall it:
"Some raise the objection about how could all those animals from Noah's Ark go to their respective habitats after, some of which were far away in different continents. However, in the past, geologists tell us that continents were linked by "land bridges". The animals could have crossed from there". (italics mine)
The "land brigdes" that the passage said form gradually over the course of millions of years, but Noah's flood supposedly happened 4,300 years ago. At that time, the geology of the Earth was roughly the same as it is now! That made me realize that the WT deliberately used the phrase "in the past" to tell a half-truth, in other words, to willfully deceive its readers. That realization shattered my faith in the WT borg. They weren't just mistaken, they were deliberate liars.

Sometimes I think Jehovah's Witnesses overuse the word "historic"
by slimboyfat inat the beginning of the may broadcast stephen lett said this was a historic broadcast.
he explained that every member of the governing body had hosted a show and they were starting over again.
that was all the explanation he gave.

The most hilarious is when they call "historic" every damn leaflet distribution for the convention/memorial/campaign. Yeah, really historic stuff: ask a j-dub and they don't remember which campaign was for what & when. -

I was looking at the scripture references in the outline, and it stoke me: all the scriptures are exactly the same I read all the time I was in; it's only a bunch of selected scriptures, a very small portion of the Bible itself, that gets recycled again and again in every meeting.
Doesn't anyone stop to think: if ALL of Bible is inspired and useful, why are we recycling only a bunch of scriptures? Where's the rest of the Bible?
Of course, if one reads the whole of the Bible with an open eye, they will come at conclusions that will shatter their faith. So, we limit our supposed biblical study in only a handful of known "safe" passages that suit our purposes.

16 Jehovah's Witnesses on trial in Russia
by LisaRose ini apologize if this has already been posted, the search function doesn't work on my kindle tablet.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/sixteen-jehovahs-witnesses-may-be-russias-most-pacifist-extremists/2015/11/20/6e046610-8898-11e5-bd91-d385b244482f_story.html.
as much as i hate this religion, i don't see that it does any good for any religion to be banned.

I agree with the OP.
The JWs do believe they have "supremacy" and "exclusivity", but then again, so does the Russian Orthodox Church. So, why doesn't the Russian court ban the Orthodox church, too? (a rhetoric question, obviously)

Building layoffs & JW calendar 2016 theme
by Gorbatchov inthe theme of the jw calendar 2016 is building, building, building.
all the calendar pictures are about building wts property with cheap labor witnesses.. and then, just before the year approaches the building has halted.. it seems a short term decision.
a strange correlation again.. gorby.

How bizarre!
I think they are toying with the r&f; they're teasing them. "Let's see how much more dumbly obedient they can be".
When you have absolute power over 8 million people, it is a great temptation to "play" with that power, to see just how far you can go with it; else it's boring.
When you're a god to a lot of people, you tend to play god.

Yeah, I've become more moral: I don't long for the death of 99.9% of the Earth's population in Big-A anymore.
I don't condone anymore the atrocities committed by God or "God's people" as found in the Old Testament; I don't believe people should be punished, or watched, for what they do in their private lives, as long as they don't hurt anyone; I've stopped being homophobic; I don't shun people; I don't give orders anymore; I don't judge; I lie a lot less.

1914—The Turning Point in History - Really?
by berrygerry in1914the turning point in history.
30 from the human standpoint, the world troubles and global wars foretold in the bible were far from the thinking of the pre-1914 world.
german statesman konrad adenauer said: thoughts and pictures come to my mind, .

The 1914 "prediction" by Bible Students was not exactly a success, since the prediction was about the end of the world and the rupture; no end of the world came then, and no rupture. Thus, the prediction was a complete failure.
It's just that they devised the "invisible presence" and "Beginning of the Last Days" theories afterwards, so as to appear, at least partly, successful.
Afterwards, everyone's a prophet.
