It was the public address about Jehovah rocking the nations. He said that he could not back up or explain the dates 1914 or 1919 but if they had questions ask their teacher. He also said he didn't know why we translated the word as "rocking". It clearly should be translated as shaking or shaken. He told us to use the JW app to look up alternative translation and see why we corrected it.

I think my D.O. Is a closet apostate. References Stanford Prison Study and hints he sometimes disagrees with the Branch
by kneehighmiah ini find it odd that the district overseer today made.
1. zero yes 0 references to the fds in any of his talks.. 2.he also told elders that the brothers worship god and not them.so therefore the elders have no authority to order the friends around.. 3. he also talked about the stanford prison study and said that people who receive authority over others often abuse it.
4. he mentioned that when he disagrees with the branch (aka the fds) he's learned to just do what they say.

Ok I'm in the bathroom posting this.
The D.O. just said during the talk "For those visiting what Im about to say in this talk I cannot back up or explain, so ask your teacher." Wow.
I hope this didn't blow the cover of him or I. Please delete it if it's too revealing.

I won't give his name. Hopefully I haven't given too much info. I also hope my own cover isn't blown.

Many top level guys are very intelligent. Some get worn out by the hypocrisy and the demands of the job and begin thinking outside the box. Remember most of the best and most devastating apostates are former top level members. Ray franz was a GB member and I have him listed #1in my apostate power rankings.. Plus the big shakeup in the 80s was all top level guys. I think most top level guys, besides the power hungry narcissistic jerks, privately hold their own views but are smart enough to not ruffle feathers and get dropped on their butts in the freezing cold with no retirement or insurance.

Oh one more thing. I thought it was strange he used the phrase Watchtower bible and tract society, instead of "the slave" when talking about a publication.

Why JW assemblies NEED to change
by kneehighmiah inthe assemblies would be get better results and get more people to come and be inspired if they were more encouraging.
instead the assemblies are a giant guilt trip.
don't go to college, don't get a good job, dont buy things even if you can afford them, don't play violent games, don't flirt.

JWs need a boring talk for any event. Build a Kingdom Hall, give a talk. Get married, another talk. Get baptized, a talk. Eat lunch during an RBC project, an "encouraging" talk. Mts graduation(or whatever it's called this week), multiple talks.

Don't go to college, don't get a good job, dont buy things even if you can afford them, don't play violent games, don't flirt. The only thing you're allowed to DO is more service. Who wants to get guilt tripped and brow beat all day. Instead why not talk about the power of faith, how to help others and how to accomplish your goals in life. Paul tells us in Romans and Galatians that the purpose of the law was to remind us of our sinful nature. Now that the law has been abolished we are supposed to focus on faith. Why aren't we doing this at assemblies?

6. Mentioned unkind treatment from an overseer in bethel. Said he was shocked to find that in gods house. Told the elders not to be like that.
This is guy is super cool. I bet he's woken up.
