Hey friendaroonie, how are JWs going to surpass Mormons when their froth rate is already decLining? I try to deal with facts here. According to their own numbers the peak memorial attendance was in 2011. They have yet to match that number again in 3 years. Yea real explosive growth. The membership is aging and they cannot recruit. they will linger for years to come, but their heyday is passed unless they come up with a new message, or a new global disaster happens.

OMG the Watchtower IS toast!
by kneehighmiah inthe waters are drying up!
a congregation of 110+ publishers will be contributing only $200 a month to the society in the new kingdom hall construction arrangement.
that's less than $2 a publisher!

The waters are drying up! A congregation of 110+ publishers will be contributing only $200 a month to the Society in the new Kingdom Hall construction arrangement. That's less than $2 a publisher! as I posted a couple of weeks ago, even JWs in the united states are not wealthy, and cannot contribute. This may just reflect my area, but it is highly unlikely that congregations will be sending off large sums. We are told that the work is rapidly expanding. However a growth rate of only 2% on addition to widespread branch closings and cutbacks in personnel (DOs), assemblies, and literature show the opposite. Two circuits will be dissolved in my area starting in September. Remember all the fuss JWs made when the catholic churches were closed and diocese were combimed? When the same thing happens to JWs it's still construed as rapid growth and the nations streaming in. Yeah thaTS why only 2 people were baptized at our assembly, the lowest I remember. Watchtower letters are starting to sound like propaganda from Baghdad Bob.

End shunning or lose tax free status
by kneehighmiah inwhich would the watchtower choose if it came down to this in the united states or europe?
losing tax free status would mean losing millions of dollars.
ending shunning means people would leave by the boatloads.

I still think you're making generalization old goat. I'm an active witness still "qualified" to serve. I disagree with the WT on doctrinal and moral grounds. I also disagree with how people are Disfellowshipped even if they are repentant. If a guy fingered his girlfriend twice in a year, he would be disfellowshipped. Perhaps he went to the elders because he felt guilty. He should have just kept his mouth shut And continued fingering her, he would have been better off. Disfellowshipping people for self reported sins is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous to shun someone for fingering their girlfriend. Paul only told the Corinthians to expel a man who was practicing wickedness not even heard among the nations. Child molestation and similar things would qualify someone as wicked. Struggling with an alcohol probkem, nit so much. Especially if that person is seeking help. However warcthower policy leaves no room for a relapse, which many people have.

1914 has already been un officially dropped as the beginning of Christ's presence. It is now the ambiguous birth of the kingdom. There is no scriptural basis for an invisible presence lasting 100 years. No doubt many in the upper ranks no longer believe in the invisible presence. The convention this year will be propaganda to reinforce the teaching of the kingdoms birth In 1914. No mention at the convention will be made of the invisible presence. It's dead and may receive a formal burial within the next year.

Why has the watchtower never written a commentary on the Greek scriptures?
by kneehighmiah inthey have writes hundreds of other repetitive books, but no bible commentary.
is it because an actually commentary would destroy their doctrine and prevent them from being able to cherry pick scriptures?.

Paul's letters would destroy JW theology. No wonder they haven't covered those.

What is the key to free yourself from the Organization?
by suavojr inthey key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.
their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.
there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.

Realizing that the organization has no authority over me was the most important step. It was like an oil tanker was lifter off my Chest. I finally had permission to live my life and not have my worth as a person judged by what time I arrived at the meetings and how many hours I went in service. i saw that elders cared more about things like that them being a loving person. It's ok to be a raging narcissistic douche as long as you reach out. This didn't mesh with what Jesus said was most important, loving others. I also knew that I didn't jesus didn't care if I didn't study my watchtower or missed a meeting. Only by corporation handlers cared. Can you imagine how absurd it is for a grown man to feel guilty for not studying his watchtower before the Sunday meeting?

I'm not a fan of tattoos on women. It's almost impossible to find black women with no tattoos in my area. And most tattoos they get are terrible and make them look unfeminine and manly.
