Magnum and ADCMS I feel like the governing body are just figureheads, mascots. The real bosses are the greedy corporation presidents. Would anyone trust Anthony Morris, Sam herd or Lett to run their business what business experience do those guys have? They were just bethel and circuit slaves. The real bosses are cutting deals with cities, grabbing money from congregations, hiring "worldly" production companies to make slick marketing videos, promoting their website etc. it's no wonder they want to fire dinosaurs like Fred Franz and Milton G and are booting DOs and old people. They need to make being a JW cool. The website shows young adults traveling the world to preach and cool stuff They're are almost taking a page out of the us army and navy recruitment playBook. I'M not surprised that the focus is not on spiritual things but on having the time of your life. It's a different org. I think it will backfire though. It's hard to be totalitarian and secular at the same time. Just ask the Soviets. The org was founded on the belief that Armageddon was imminent. Once people stop believing that, what do they have left besides the social aspect?

Magnum this is for congregations only. A couple months ago I posted audio only of the Detroit international convention video that was shown during local needs. the video was shot in the same exact format. It highlighted how great Detroit was and how the governing body cares about our cars. It emphasized that Detroit is safe. It featured shots of Ford Field, and showed a group of pretend delegates arriving at the convention and using all the facilities ammenities. These videos are only for the congregations and were not meant to be posted to social media sites like YouTube. it was posted without authorization. the purpose of these videos is to encourage friends to listen obey and be blessed. They are catching a lot of flak from friends who don't want to attend conventions in dangerous cities like Detroit, or who think the governing body's instructions on public transportation use are patently absurd. They are trying to hype up the conventions to the witnesses. worldly people don't give a a flying you know what about the convention.

The video was likely for congregations only. The organization will remove any material they haven't authorized for the public. trust me the video is 100% goverming body approved.

Besides the Catholic Church Judaism and Islam, all organizations eventually fail. The US financial crisis saw the death of several landmark institutions. Hitler and Napoleon fell. Russia fell. The Borg will eventually fail as well or change so much as to be completely un recognizable.

Wing commander your post is excellent sir. I'm also a big time lifter. I hated convention days. No mid morning snack. I needed my Greek yogurt and fruit at 10:30 am.

wow! These guys don't believe the end is coming. But they do love controlling people and wasting their gas. I guess the direction to drive all the way to the other side of the city to take the Marta is the direction that is "unsound from a strategic standpoint." All the good JWs will believe they're pleasing Jehovah. I'm embarrassed to at one time have been under the influence of such brainwashing.

im also a minority. I dont want to turn this into a racial thing. I'll just say that im not surprised the video featured minorities prominently. As usual they're the ones told to obey and be blessesed. Guess what color the friends were who told the GB they were not going to the Detroit convention, which necessitated the propaganda video? Yes white. The white friends are usually the "rebels" and apostates because they are usually better educated and independent. As the org becomes more cult like it reminds me of how some cults like Jim jones are more attractive to minorities. i just got creeped out by a bunch of black brothers and a Hispanic family talking about how to please and obey the nearly all white governing body, with their creepy picture included.

also a further rewrite of JW history. So apparently the JWs had a governing body in 1919. As Dwight from The Office would say "False!" They are determined to work the governing body teaching in.

The WTS iS not run by the GB. Thry are mascots. Would anyone want Anthony Morris or Lett running their business. after they booted Franz and Milton G, the show has been run by the corporations. Of course these letters come from the "governing body" but it's not their ideas. I think this change is to prevent old geezers from messing things up. Better to get a younger ambitious company man to serve as COBE. They apparently don't view grey headedness as a crown of beauty. Firing old people and kicking them out of the circuit work. I guess old people are a liability.
