  the victims were required to recount the abuse at the meeting in order to have rose barred from the church, the paper says.. a spokeswoman for the commission said: "the commission has ongoing serious concerns about the manchester new moston congregation of jehovahs witnesses in connection with its policies and procedures for the protection of vulnerable beneficiaries.

  i think it's still a district convention until it goes to two days, isn't it?

  my convention program leaflet just says "convention of jehovah's witnesses", seemingly intentionally avoiding the change in wording.

  I think I made a post months ago asking if the GB is just trolling us. Their teachings are getting weirder. Plus some statements in the magazines are almost admissions that they are frauds. Brother losch life story was blatant. Plus them making fun of Harold camping. each day I become more certain they're trolling us.

  This is upsetting. Of course the branch will do nothing to compensate the families. one woman and 4 children. this is the result of blind obedience. Crossing the river at flood stage? It's too dangerous to even search for the bodies. They never stood a chance.

  Maybe that's the reason for the cash and property grab. They are about to do a massive rebranding that will cost them tons of followers short term, with the hope that they can have long term growth. New bible, last memorial nonsense, shorter conventions, no more DO, less meetings, rapture for the 144k, FDS teaching revision, 16 page wt and awakes. All in a 2 year period. What's next? Hopefully something that makes my family and friends leave.

  Magnum, as part of my journey out I'm trying to learn more about the experiences of the pre-75 generation half a lifetime ago. My parents were post 75 so they can't help.

  Are you an adult? If you're a minor you should seek legal advice. If you're not causing problems I'm sure they cannot kick you out just because you don't want to follow their religion. Remember you have freedom to choose your religion. It's a basic human right.

  have jws pinched anything other than family worship from the mormons?.

  could we see jws implement a type of meeting structure similar to the mormons to try and engage different ages in different ways?.

  could we ever see a jw feel free to do anything like...?.

  Hey Searcher maybe the governing body will give you a cut of their profits since they stole your ideas.

  The LDS have a surefire way of keeping track of who in the flock contributes financially and who doesn't, thanks to the tithing.

  Since Brooklyn/Warwick would never try to introduce such a draconian and unscriptural money-grabbing scheme, they are left with the dilemma as to how to shame those who are not donating, because contributing is done anonymously.

  One possible scenario is that contribution boxes could be removed totally from Kingdom Halls and the publishers issued with banking mandate forms which authorise a certain payment monthly to the Org - purely to save on the hassle of counting the money every week, the administration, and the efficiency of having it all done electronically of course!!

  Oh, oh - have I just given them an idea on how to fleece more efficiently?
