White men should not be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons since they almost exclusively are the demographic who commit mass shootings in America. Perhaps we also need to start pulling over more white male drivers and give them sobriety tests since a disproportionate amount of white males are arrested for DUI/DWI. Might save some lives.

So, the Police Dept. profile the suspect. They're looking for a guy who's approx. 5' 8 to 5' 10, medium build, with white, possibly pale skin, and a thick red beard (or heavy red 'shadow' if he's since shaved), and ginger hair. The police wouldn't be looking for black men or black women or Asian men or Asian women in this scenario, right?
It's already beem established that we were talking about racial profiling which is not only illegal but lazy

What does it mean to support the police anyway? I'm grateful for law enforcement and i respect the law. But that doesn't mean being an apologist for racist behavior.
Also all humans are biased. Acknowledging your biases doesn't make you a bad person. Racial bias in law enforcement has been demonstrated repeatedly. That doesn't make law enforcement evil or bad. However as a society we should work to overcome those biases to the best of our ability. Advocating for racial profiling is the opposite and ironically violates the law officers are supposed to uphold.

Another thing about body cams...yes peoples frivolous claims have been debunked, but also police have changed their behavior knowing that they can't hide behind false reports or have their buddies cover for them. Within the last month an officer in Texas was fired and charged with murder thanks to body cam footage. He shot and killed a black woman while doing what was supposed to be a welfare check up. At least we csn agree that body cams csn make us safer. It works both ways.

As for "minority and black privelege" who are the ones creating the laws that give minorities this alleged privilege? Oh yeah, white people. But instead of being mad at the white people who made the laws you're mad at minorities and black people. Btw I'm against affirmative action and quotas. There is definitely still racism in hiring, but it's my belief these programs do more harm than good. I graduated and obtained my licenses without having anything dumbed down. I also don't understand why you can't admit that racism is still a big problem. If i can acknowledge faults in my community why can't you be honest about the numerous studies that show that there is a racial bias in crimminal justice? Do i need to show you links?

Simon you're coming off as an emasculated, scared, angry white male. The only thing you know about black people is what you see or read in the media. Ironically it's white liberals in the media who coined phrases like "white privelege" etc. I don't know any black person who has been to a black lives matter rally. White SJW liberals are more offended by alleged racism and words than black people are. But the liberal media, who i actually despise, does a good job of riling you up and exposing your closeted racism. You assume I'm a Democrat, I'm not. They're a joke. You assume i was on my phone at night. I wasn't. But i see you're from the UK and you don't have the same concept of constitutional rights we Americans have. Our rights are not bestowed upon us due to the benevolence of the government. Rather we are born with them, they are inalienable. I can own a gun. I can speak freely without being arrested. I am also free from illegal search and seizure. You sound like you would willingly allow the government to read your mail and listen to your conversations. They could even search your house without warrant, because you're not doing anything wrong so it's no big deal. Sorry I don't go for that. I hope you're not one of those contradictory folks who rail against government control, while at the same time willingly ceding your civil liberties. The police have no right to detain citizens just because of their skin color. Not only is it illegal, based on numerous court rulings, its also racist. Again white men are more likely to do random mass murders so maybe we should take away their guns. White men also molest kids. Lets ban them from schools and boy scouts. Profiling is not cool. You can't stand for freedom and approve of profiling.

Maybe we should also start rounding up and harassing white young men since they look like mass shooters. Do you see how ridiculous profiling is? I'm black and have family in Federal law enforcement, Department of Treasury in case you were wondering. Profiling is bad and lazy policework not to mention unconstitutional. I'm a college educated black male who has had to take time off from work to get bogus tickets tossed. I was stopped by police while standing in front of my own home once while talking on the phone. Was told "the neighbors called about a suspicious man they didn't recognize." That's obviously a lie because my family has lived at that home for longer everyone except one old widow. I cooperated, but its very sad this happens. I accidentally had expired plates in a white neighborhood and had 4 units and a canine unit respond. They said my car fit the description of a recently stolen car. More lies. I knew my rights and didn't let them search my car. After I showed my hospital badge they treated me nicely, though they did ask what i was doing in that area late at night. I had my new plates with me in my car and they let me change them and I was not cited. But white people need to put themselves in other peoples shoes before talking about things they will never experience. Not to mention Southern police participated in beating, murdering and covering up crimes against black people and civil rights people in the South. It's also a proven fact that black people recieve harsher sentences. So maybe you can see why many of us don't trust police. While I do have great respect for what the law represents and the function of law enforcement, I don't hold officers as individuals with any special regard or view them to be any more trustworthy than other citizens.
