Cassyrene-
May you find peace and joy in your new life. Kick the dirt off your shoes, and keep moving forward - never look back. Maybe one day your dad will see the light - one can only hope.

Japan closes 638 Congregations!!!!! Why???
by Witness 007 injapan since the 1970''s has had amazing publisher increases!
every year the number of witnesses shot up by many thousands.
this peaked in 1998, since then the number of witnesses and congregations has continued to drop!.

Maybe it's all about the money! They got the brothers to donate the $$$ for the halls, and then they sold them off to send Ted and his bozos on free luxury jaunts here, there, and nowhere.

Maybe the novelty of belonging to an American cult wore off.
Maybe the special pioneers were laid off by the WTS.
Maybe the Kool Aid was stopped and the flock opened their eyes.
Maybe people in non Anglo countries are tired of Anglo religions telling them what God says and doesn't say.
Maybe the weekend cartoons got better in Japan.

Whats the funniest thing you've ever seen happen in the KH?
by shell69 ini remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!
or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.
i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

During the "promotions" we would have morning and afternoon meetings for service at the KH. One afternoon (after doing my window washing) I was waiting at the hall with the territories and Paul shows up (God rest his soul). I asked him how the morning service went. He said, "fine". About a minute later he realized he had driven off from the territory, and left the entire group in the territory without a vehicle. Talk about pissed off sisters. After the second and third time it wasn't so funny.

Canadian National Average Seems to be Increasing
by Connaughty inour circuit overseer is now using the old sermon again...now, now, brothers and sisters the national average is 10 hours a month.
surely you want to accomplish this, don't you?
he is even knocking coffee breaks so that we can achieve this crazy average.

The CO recommends to get the coffee on the run, so more time can be reported...
1. Most of these zealous door bangers are counting time during coffee breaks - leave an old magazine in the stall, and count the time - zeal.
2. The hell with coffee break, maybe the door bangers should demand coffee from the householders, bring their kids with tears, and beg milk - then they can count all the time, and save gas while at it.
Hilary - right on! If we desire to do something, then time is never an impediment - we make the time. What kind of cat do you have that requires that much polishing?

Yes man! I visited Jamaica 2 months ago and went up into the hill country where I met an 84 y.o. woman who recounted how she was heading down to Mandeville, when 2 men in a car told her to get in (she thought she was going to get a ride). They took her down a back road, robbed her of all her money, and because her eyesight is bad (couldn't identify them) they threw her out of the car on her head, She recuperated, but another piece of her good heart was ripped out by these worthless thugs.

Massive donations to the WTS
by greendawn inhave any of you or people that you know such as relatives or friends, made a very significant donation to the wts?
by that i mean property, or money in excess of let's say $10 000. .
enriching an already very rich organisation has to be moronic, they are the ones that should be helping the poor among them the proverbial orphans and widows.

Much too generous! Maybe a book, or two, but the whole collection?
