Family Reuinion and Being Disfellowshipped (sorry...but it's long)
by babygirl30 init has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!
but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.
i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.

:(
stay strong babygirl. UV obviously made so much progress since leaving. Focus on that and even if this depresses u for a bit u look strong enough to dust it off and move on.
Ps: I love the idea of a family reunion. Haven't been to one myself.

I was supposed to go visiting to this one with family and friends from my home country cong, but faked sickness. I could have actually become sick of all the BS anyway!
Wonder if it was as hot there as some of Europe was last week.

Stuckinarut, that's really sad news. I hope you are coping somehow. The passing of a sibling seems like a scary thought, its almost like a part of you that grew up with you is suddenly gone. I cannot begin to process it myself. Please take care of yourself and please feel free to come here and grieve if it makes u feel better. Take care xx
FayeDunaway, I watched Inside Out too last night and cried my eyes out. Having run away from home once those conflicting emotions in my head (and intermittent death of all emotion) was only all too familiar.

Indian Paradox
by fulltimestudent inwhile researching a comment on the long-running naga rebellion in india, i came across this charming image.
a woman wearing a burqua (so obviously muslim) walks her son to school.
its described as being a festival day, so the boy is dressed as the lord krishna.. from the indian newsnation: http://www.newsnation.in/photos/entertainment/only-happen-in-india-1021/slide1#more.

India has been the seat of a whole lot of reliigion backed violence, but it's also the place where sometimes people just want to be happy and make the best of the little the most of them happen to have.
On the other hand, the latest thing fanatics are using to further their catastrophic cause is inter-religious marriages.
http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2014/10/jihad-war-romance-india-20141014923212607.html
Falling in love with someone from another religion is almost always doomed as most Indians would attest to. You aren't allowed to choose those you love. Indian parents generally drill that into their kids' heads from early childhood. If you do, then u face shunning, ostracism, maybe even a honor killing. Its a tough life for the general Indian of marriageable age.
