OF DOGS AND BITES AND BIKES AND THINGS
by Terry inthe thought suddenly struck me plain and obvious: "these dogs won't stop until i'm good and bloody.".
there were two of them; a mixed breed of boxer and pit bull; clean, white--collared, tagged and--for some inexplicable reason, ferociously intent on tearing me to shreds!.
ah, but i'm getting ahead of myself.

Islam is the Epitome of Misogyny
by cofty inin this video the popular saudi cleric sheik yahya al-jana discusses the joys of paradise, saying that men will have the strength of a hundred men in paradise and will be busy tearing hymens, while the virgins of paradise, whose breasts are like pomegranates, become virgins every time again.. the cleric also explains it is mostly men who enter paradise noting that women in general are bad because they refuse to wear the veil, they wear tight clothes in shopping malls, put on perfume and jewelry, and use filthy social media platforms.
source.... this is what young men from conservative muslim families are raised on.
is it any wonder islamic countries treat women appallingly?.

"Stephen Evans, campaigns manager at the NSS said: “Being male isn't a genuine occupational requirement for a science teacher in a state school. Any attempt to try and make it so is unjustifiable.
“The Government's encouragement of schools run by religious groups will bring with it increasing demands for religious customs and practices to be accommodated within our education system.
“If religious demands to discriminate and segregate along gender lines are accommodated, teachers of the 'wrong sex' will be disadvantaged and children in such schools are unlikely to be adequately prepared for life as equal citizens in a liberal democracy – which should be one of the fundamental aims of education policy.
“For some religious groups, it is clear that the primary goal of state education should be to instill parents' religious beliefs in children.
“Equality must not be sacrificed in the rush to satisfy their demands.”"-------------
Wear a mini skirt? Men formed mobs and stripped 10 women they found on street for violating a law they (the men) didn't understand to begin with (anti-porn law, not anti-mini skirt law).
"The law has sparked increased incidents of mobs of men publicly harassing, assaulting and undressing women for wearing short skirts in public places."

---Looked it up: Uganda is 84% Christian.

from the article above:
"The legislation to ban “indecent dressing” was proposed last year by Simon Lokodo, the Ethics and Integrity Minister , who said that women who wore “anything above the knee” should be arrested."
(Stephen Fry interview with the guy yielded an interesting comparison between child rape and homosexuality)

Muslim (male-only) worship(!!) outside high school where Ahmed took his clock and was arrested. His 1st period teacher told him to keep it put away. Yet a clock that requires either a battery or AC outlet, and the alarm to actually be set and click to the proper hour and minute in order to sound the alarm, did so in his 6th period class of the day.
Do women worship in the same vicinity/mosques as male muslims? Some do, some don't. But those images do not have any females worshiping at Ahmed's (Macarthur High) school. Why worship at any high school in the USA at all? And why not more more outrage and media coverage about this travesty?
Also, why didn't Ahmed's sister who took the picture of Ahmed in handcuffs get any commendations for bravery (apparently, photo was taken at the police station) or offered scholarships in her own right, perhaps for journalism and/or photography, etc?

Western women cannot help muslim woman any more so than we can forcibly help an indoctrinated JW.

Islam is the "Spanish Inquisition" happening right here and now - it would appear to be so, yes.I'm sure many defended Catholicism during that time and they were equally wrong and equally stupid to do so as those that now excuse and defend Islam
- ditto. But I don't expect 'those that now excuse and defend Islam' to apologise anytime soon - one of the perks of being of the Left is never having to say you're sorry, apparently ...
Agree with the comparison to the Spanish Inquisition.
Left, right. Black & white. There's much more going on here than a simple two-sided issue.

Oh, and you can click on your name (top bar of the site, next to "messages" and "sign out" buttons) here on the forum and refresh (or reset, choose new) avatar / little picture for posting.
Mine is linked to Gravatar website, so I don't know how well the forum here sets or saves the avatar pics. My old one wasn't working, so I refreshed it the other day. But then I decided to change it up instead.

I cannot use the "quote" feature.
Also hi-liting no longer works as it used to. Cannot turn of hi-liting on my own section of posts.Any ideas?
Hit "enter" button prior to highlighting ("highlighting" at this point means dragging your mouse across the text you want to make into a quote, while holding down left mouse button) the text you want to make into a quote. Put a period ( . ) as a place holder. Highlight the text by dragging mouse across the desired quote portion (above your saved space period mark). Click on the quotation marks in the toolbar above reply box.
So, you:
- paste the quote,
- hit enter button,
- mark lowest line with a period,
- go back up and drag mouse across desired text (while holding left button).
- After that, click the "quotation mark" button in the tool bar above.Another trick: if you want to create linked text, click the "code view" button in the toolbar. Type in :
[less than sign] A Href ="URL link here"[greater than sign]words you want to make into a link [less than sign] (backslash,no space between letter) A [greater than sign]You can also use "code view" to clear unwanted issues, such as the highlighting feature not working properly.
Simply clear the code of the unwanted terms. In this case it would be " style background color : yada yada". Or add </p> in the middle of paragraph or sentence you wish to stop the highlight.edit: for clarity, I hope.

Yup, realizing one's true mortality sucks. They also used dead loved ones as a carrot-on-a-stick approach for recruitment. Still stinging from that one, too.

Instead of attacking my argument, you attack me. That's a logical fallacy known as "ad hominem".
[from Wikipedia]
"An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"), short for argumentum ad hominem, means responding to arguments by attacking a person's character, rather than addressing the content of their arguments. When used inappropriately, it is a fallacy in which a claim or argument is dismissed on the basis of some irrelevant fact or supposition about the author or the person being criticized."
I used reasoning in the exact same way the EXJW reddit community responded to the Jehovah's Witness IAMA post: if you make a claim, give proof/evidence. Claims are not evidence, in and of themselves.
Watchtower uses these sorts of tricks all the time. They make grandiose claims, attack people using ad hominem fallacies. They treat women like 2nd class human beings. Not equal to men at all. Inferior. In every single way, women must bow to every baptized male's opinion in the congregation, even if the male is a 6 or 8 years old.
LeVar Burton gives a stunning performance as Kunta Kinte in "Roots" :

The scene is all about breaking another person's will. Coercive persuasion. Undue influence. Brainwashing.

Nope, I'm in agreement with you.
I've done my fair share of construction and automotive work long before becoming a JW. In fact, a guy asked me to grab the other end of an engine block (minus the head, valves and pistons... it was being taken in for an acid dip) in order to help him carry and load it into the back of his truck. There were other guys standing around. IMO, the only reason he asked me for help and not the other guys milling around is because I would do it. It had very little to do with actual capabilities. Again, this is my opinion. Those other men were pretty well known for being a gaggle of gossiping lazy asses. Ha.
And yeah. I'm a woman, too.

@ cappytan...
"Perpetually offended" would be a terrific username.
Yeah, because calling someone out for their bigotry is wrong. In fact, let's flip it over to the person who actually called em out on it - the
apostatenon-conformist, who doesn't buy the explainerating, bullsh!tting, or 'oops, I was talking numbers, not qualifications'.Here's a fun illustration: Can you imagine if the TV show "Roots" had been made into a campy farce /comedic romp about how the black folk just stumble-bummed around and enslaved themselves, instead of how slavery actually occurred historically?
Would you be upset with a black person calling out the campy production for what it really was: a fucking bigoted farce, made to white-wash history?
Now imagine someone making a statement/claim that there are a large number of unqualified people on a list, after making note out loud that 35% of the number are black people. They are the only subset on that list enumerated by the claimant before making the statement.
Is that okay? To insinuate that someone is disqualified for a particular field of work, based solely on the claimants bigotry / preconceived notions? No facts, evidence, or anything else to back up why that subset of the work group is unqualified.
