  Another generation....

  it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?

  the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.

  the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

  Your feelings for the former travelling overseers

  during our wt life we met a good number of friends involved in the circuit and district work.

  i am sure that we share the same experience and that we remember fondly some that we caring, loving and generally interested in the brothers.

  at the same time we might remember others that were arrogant, selfish, abusive and oppressive.

  Touché LisaRose so eloquently summed up.

  Some might remember a long time DO, Wayne Johnson one arrogant, egotistical, piece of work. Never saw him crack a smile a total “company man.” He sure liked to strut around the assembly hall. All his ass kissing minions would capitulate to his every command.

  Also a CO named Jack Brodie old school type wanted everyone to agree no matter what he said. He had a bully like attitude. Don’t know where these two are today.

  Good riddance to them all. They are all getting just what they deserve. No sympathy from me.

  The Watchtower Letters

  several years ago, i put together a compilation of various types of correspondence between me and the watchtower society, that occurred over the 30 years i was a jw.

  some was just administrative stuff, like pioneer appointments and letters.

  but there were also several letters that i wrote regarding doctrinal issues, including some sensitive ones.

  This GB is really pushing their luck in the local congregations. Many JW’s struggle just to make ends meet. I hope this makes the flock wake up more and more. I also hope it comes back to bite the GB for their brazen and smug attitude.

  1950 Watchtower Bound Volume now Complete!

  the 1950 september 15th watchtower is now complete and this will finish the 1950 watchtower bound volume.

  a big thank you to jaydee for all of his hard work of scanning the watchtowers into jpg files which i received and converted into pdf files and made them searchable.

  jaydee worked day and night to get these files finished for us and i really appreciate his kindness... we only had to darken out one name on one shipping label.

  1974 Special Meetings

  as we all know, armageddon was just around the corner in 1974. at the district conventions that year, it was announced that there would be two special meetings during the month of september; one would be for interested people (e.g., bible studies, family members, inactive, etc.

  ), and the other would be for baptized publishers.

  these were to be held in place of the service meetings for the two weeks, iirc.

  So I had a conversation with an older brother...

  recently, i was speaking with an older brother who is well into his 80's and is a widower.

  he explained to me that it is tough getting old and that "nothing works right anymore".

  he told me that he was able to get through his 70's with few problems.

  During the 1970’s, 80’s, & 90’s….whenever I would try to discreetly engage others in a group regarding a recent WT study article or assembly talk adjustments that sounded absurd, we all remember peoples reaction. Be careful Bro.…… “You are talking against Christ’s anointed brothers.” Or my favorite…… “Why if I didn’t know better you sound almost like an apostate.”

  Most JW’s were so confident of the special connection their leaders had with the Almighty. Do not suggest that you were ever questioning them!! It may sound mean but I really feel zero sympathy for these older JW’s and their delusions of grandeur. Many were smug & haughty eagerly expecting the rest of mankind to be destroyed.

  Remember their famous go to scripture, “For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.”

  Oh and by the way remember their attitude and boastful feelings decades ago:

  WT September 15, 1971 p. 564 par. 22 Set Apart from the World

  22 All who seek a place in the redeemed society of mankind thereby come into association with the happiest people on earth—Jehovah’s witnesses. These are the only people who know for a certainty where they are going.

  However, true ministers of God not only have duties and requirements but also have many privileges. In fact, as a group, they are the most privileged, the most successful, and by far the happiest group on earth today, as you will see in the next article.

  So be it then, many JW’s who never remotely anticipated the year 2016 arriving have gotten old and will die in this old system. How happy are they now?

  As far as I’m concerned they are getting exactly what they deserve.

  And remember all this crap and self-importance just continues.....after all it’s the..... ”The Best Life Ever.”
