What Is The Stupidest Rule You've Encountered As a Witness?
by minimus inone rule that i never could understand is that if you were studying with an unbelieving husband, you could associate with him, even as couples, but if a person was considered a "weak" witness, it was best to avoid any association until that person changed......what dumb rule or belief comes to your mind??

The Idea of God.
by Blueblades inthe idea of god is either a fact,like sand,or a fantasy,like santa.. the idea of god has guided or deluded more lives,changed more history,inspired more music and poetry and philosophy than anything else,real or imagined.it has made more of a difference to human life on this planet,both individually and collectively,than anything else ever has.. to see this clearly for yourself,just try this thought experiment:.
suppose no one in history had ever conceived the idea of god.now,rewrite history following that premise.the task daunts and staggers the imagination.
.from the earliest human remains----- religious funeral artifacts-----to the most recent wars in the mideast,religion----belief in a god or gods----has been the mainspring of the whole watch that is human history.. if the idea of god is a fantasy,a human invention,it is the greatest invention of all human history.. there are only two possibilities,"to be or not to be",that is the question.. blueblades

God is not an idea but a conclusion Ancient humans did not say "Hey I have an idea, lets invent a god."No, people concluded in God as an answer to questions or solution to problems, that is if you dont take the Bible into consideration wherein God communicated with individuals proving his exsitence.
But in my opinion, the human mmind of a sane person will come up on ist own with the idea of God as you say, even without any influnece.

note the plural "our image", "our likeness" yet from other verses it is clear that man was created in gods image and likeness (singular).. "so god created man in his own image, in the image of god created he him; male and female created he them.

You conclude that I have not checked the refeerences in the T broch. How do you know what I have done, and what I have not done.
The probelm with some conclusions is that they have no basis. That is one line of argumentation that the T brochure shows challenging the Trinty dogma, a concusion without foundation. The entire T Broch cannot be discredited because some individuals may feel that the citations therein do not support the arguments or that the citations are a misrepresentation. I disagree with that feeling. The references cited in the T broch do support the arguments.B ut even without any references showing "church fathers" views, the T broch is solid. It is magnificent. The Poster's reasonings in support of the TRinity are torn apart by the evidence and argument found in the T broch. The T broch is one great piece of lit that trashes the trinity in my opinion. Dont have to agree with all wts dogma but I give credit when it is due. And the T brocure merits credit.

Leo I think that the Trinity Broch is not dececeiful and that the facts it presents and argument and logic establish that ALmighty God is not a Trinity and it also exposes the erroneous logic of TRinitarians. People however choose to reject evidence and thus I always tell people to nelive what you like but that does not imvalidate the evidemce,

generation change
by littlemike inhello this is my first topic on this forum.. i left the jws 18 months ago and am still recovering.
it was after reading crisis of conscience that i was brave enough to leave although i had serious doubts before i was always scared in case it was right!!
and i was wrong.. however when they changed the generation in 1995 that caused me great trauma as i had accepted that as absolute fact and based my life on it.

Prior to baptism a person could break every rule and nothing is held against a person, but slip once after baptiosm and it stays with you perpetually.

WHAT VIEW SHOULD WE HAVE NOW THAT WE DONT SEE THINGS THE WTS WAY?
by fearnotruth22 ini thought that the wts had all of the answers, but now i dont know anything for sure, i am comnvinced though of the existence of god and that thers is more to life than what we are experiencing now.
but i am not going to get imvolved in the mechanics of worhiping god via religion joining them or to get enveloed in those believes .
i have a simple philosophy.
