  2nd amendment right ... where should it end?

  one thing i like to do to test a theory is to take things to extremes or to their logical conclusion to see if the premises still hold.

  very often, a claim that seems to make sense at a superficial level falls apart when you start to stretch it a little.. so let's play a game.. suppose the 2nd amendment is valid, that some "well regulated militia" really is necessary to hold the government to account.. obviously when this was drafted the government had access to the weapons of it's day which would be muskets!

  so muskets all round.

  You notice in the amendment it links "militia" and the right of the people to bare arms. In no way do I believe that the founders of the constitution meant the right only to extend to side arms. Weapons of war where meant to be included. Private ownership of large weapons of war was not that uncommon at least until civil war era. Your question becomes nonsensical when you talk about modern weapon systems simply due to the costs involved. Even Bill Gates probably couldn't afford to buy and operate an aircraft carrier.

  I have a counter question for you.... Can you point to any part of the constitution that would grant the government the power to limit the peoples right in this regard?

  does anyone have a meaningful response to the following question/points: the fruitage of the spirit found at gal.

  5:22: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, mildness, kindness.

  goodness, faith and self-control, in many way for many people can be increased through the use of anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, and a host of other pharma's.

  The way I see it, at most those drugs help some people function in more socially acceptable ways. I don't think they are capable of giving people real feelings of Love joy peace ext.

  There are two facts at play here...

  First it seems as though so much of the craziness on the world stage is coming from Muslims.
  

  And secondly we all know most Muslims are not terrorists. They just want to live a peaceful life with a different culture and religion than our own.

  I will be honest here... It is very difficult to reconcile those two thoughts in my head. It is hard not to be biased against the whole religion. How do we tell the two groups apart?

  sloppyjoe... the point is that guy had a choice. He did what he felt was best for himself at the time. It also helps to confirm that most concealed carry holders are very responsible and don't just go off half caulked. Apparently no one else there had a choice. Their only option was to hide and hope for the best.
  

  If you had to go through the same ordeal... would you honestly prefer NOT to be armed?

  I can imagine a world with less guns as being a safer place.

  However I think the push towards gun laws are misguided. I don't think they will accomplish what the proponents expect.

  Making something illegal =/= getting rid of it entirely.(sometimes it has the opposite effect)

  sloppyjoe2 there is absolutely no evidence that the assualt weapon ban was effective. Non at all.

  It was a political solution to get rid of scary looking black military style weapons. It had nothing to do with how guns functioned... just how they looked.

  Folks this case has nothing to do with gun control laws... If they where willing to take the risk of manufacturing explosives... gun control laws would not have stopped them.

  Why don't gun control laws keep people in France safe?

  How to deal with anxiety?

  lately my mental health has been rapidly declining.

  i have anorexia and deppression, and my anxiety has become overwhelming.

  i have been to many doctors/therapists in the past, but because i have not been magically cured my parents dont want to get me any more help.

  For mental health issues of course there is a strong psychological component. However there usually is a very strong physiological component. Diet is vital for good mental health.

  Many people find great relief by significantly increasing their cholesterol intake. The brain NEEDS cholesterol.
  

  Carbs cause mood and hormone shifts in your body. If you are prone to mental heath issues this can greatly increase it. Fats give you lasting energy. For me I deal with migraine headaches. If I can keep myself in a ketonic state... I feel MUCH MUCH better. The way to do this first significantly reduce your food intake. It sounds like you might already be doing this through no fault of your own. The next important thing is to greatly increase your fat intake.(PLEASE if you already are not eating much don't decrease it.. just increase the fats you eat)

  Another extremely important nutritional component is trace minerals. They are vital for nerve function. Our diets are probably deficient in them. I take pure unadulterated sea salt for its trace minerals. If this doesn't sound like a good idea look for a good supplement that includes the 90+ minerals important to our bodies.
