Depends on the forum software as to whether or not the admins have access. I would imagine Simon, as the sole owner, does. And yes, if you were getting harassing messages you should let the admins know.

should there be a rule against posting PMs ?
by MissFit inmost people feel that it is unethical to post private messages.. how ever there does not seem to be a posting rule against it.. some people unfamiliar with posting on boards may not realize that it is not done to post private messages .
( even though it would seem self evident with the word private in it.).
so what do you think about making it an official posting rule?.

The assumption and common sense is to assume everything on the internet may become public and to act appropriately.
Post and write accordingly.

What is spirit, exactly?
by Viviane ini've always wondered that.
recently i asked that question on another thread and didn't really get ananswer.
cofty made an excellent point that we often hear what it isn't, but that really isn't useful.. so, what is it?

I am glad you found the thread useful, Caliber.

For the time being at the age of 69 I have come to the conclusion that some questions are just unanswerable. I have come to accept that some things are unknowable at this time. I can live with that. This topic has been an eye-opener for me. I still remain in the unknowable place. Thanks its been interesting. Blueblades
Thanks Darwin. I am glad you found the topic useful. I hope there are always mysteries for us to solve.

I am not entirely sure that's true, I have shown plenty of chemistry on this site. Do you think it's possible you may be mistaken Viv?
Of course it is. Allow me to rephrase for accuracy. I've personally, since I don't follow you around or are particularly interested in your posts, seen you display anything more than links to chemistry or have specific or passable knowledge of chemistry. Of course, you may be the most brilliant chemist alive, for all I know. However, since you've been caught being dishonest several times, I have absolutely no reason to believe anything you say. Please stop talking to me. I have no interest in dealing with your childish behavior any longer.

I can show a connection cofty. But because of Vivs posts I am not going to today. I may another day, we'll see. I just think she will just attack my chemistry and I see no point in doing so.
You've never shown any chemistry on this site, just said you were a chemist and promptly displayed a stunning lack of knowledge about chemistry specifically and science in general. By all means, post some chemistry!
Anyway, rather than go further off topic, can you explain what spirit is made of?

even if you guys are saying that spirit is a metaphor you cannot simply dismiss spirit as if it was something figurative and unimportant. My argument rests on how metaphors structure language and meaning
No one has dismissed it. It's just all that they have said. And you haven't made an argument yet.

Was Hitler atheist?
by zound ini've heard that hitler did what he did in the name of atheism from various theists - or at least that he was an atheist.
i wasn't sure about it, but found this quote today.
thoughts?.

You heard incorrectly. Reports are that he personally was a skeptic but used religion to further his desires as needed.

Fine believe what you wish, nothing you have said is productive and proves any of my science is incorrect. This is just more intellectual intimidation. Keep it coming Viv, fire away fire away, I am bullet proof. I am titanium. I have been bullied far worse that what you are doing. LOL!!!!
Kate, please keep your alternating complaints about being intimidated and bragging about how tough you are on your thread. Completely off topic here. I've better things to do than watch you be dishonest and change your story every time you are caught.
Can you explain what spirit is? So far you've no even come close.
