I came up with just over 11000m/s as final velocity when you hit the core, but, that's assuming gravitaional acceleration is constant throughout, which it isn't, so I know that answer is wrong.

the flood, mammoths, elphants, and food.
by Crazyguy inmy question is since it looks as though mammoths were alive after the flood and we know elephants are then how much food was needed to feed just these four animals for the time they were on the ark.
also was the ark, 500 feet long, big enough to hold the amount of food needed for just these 4 animals.. .

It is a great framework to hang your ideas on, the simple math of physics.
None of which you've been able to show, despite claims to the contrary.
Sad.

Viv: Visit youporn or something. ... I've instilled in them a respect for the elder generation
i am sure you have. Do you tell them to visit youporn too when they disrespect you? Lol
For the person who whined he was being misrepresented, that's a whopper you just told there.
And to answer, nah, they don't disrespect me. OTOH, they could never respect a man that begs a woman to stop talking to him and then keeps trying to talk to her. If you like, they could offer you lessons on how to get respect.
Viv, i acknowledge that is your oppinion. Meanwhile i think i have said the same thing for three pages. We disagree and you think i should watch porn. Lol
You have said the same thing for three pages. You've been wrong for three pages, but consistently go. Keep it up if it's working for you.

Final bit of advice...
Your problem is that you are REALLY good at math. Not so good at physics. Seriously, a hobbyist astronomer knew more than a physicist about physics?
You clearly can do the math to figure out most problems, but you clearly cannot fiure out why the problems exists in the first place. That's literally the first thing I teach my children. Forget HOW to solve it, let's first understand even what the problem is.
You, as a physicist, spent several paged arguing about something only to end up proving exact what a hobbyist said and then deciding to start arguing about well-defined terms and whether or not they mean what they clearly mean only to then start lobbing insults.
You should look at a different line of work. Clearly, defending your ideas in a rational and structured approach isn't for you.

Viv, i send you a pm at a time where i thought we were talking about physics. you send me a pm last and i did not reply. Notice i dont misstate what was in it.
I noticed. I noticed, specifically, you claim to want to stop talking yet PM me and keep responding here. As I said, if you want to stop, then stop. No one is forcing you to type responses to me complaining about how you respond to me. Be a man and take control of your hands. Visit youporn or something.
I dont know if i agree with you or not by now because i dont know what you believe and dont care to find out anymore.
You do. Ask a physics person, they can explain the details. I suggest having a whiteboard handy.
You are free not to trust me on physics or in any other matter.
Of course I am. I never required your permission so I am curious to know why you feel like it was something you should mention. However, please don't feel obligated to answer. Seriously, please don't.
if you mentor the kids the same way you are involved in this thread i feel very bad for them.
Given your knowledge of basic physics (despite having a physics degree), I think you should. I've instilled in them a respect for the elder generation, they will feel terrible taking your job and it's all your fault for not being better at knowing things. I would have hoped you could mentor them, turns out they'll be taking your office.
I'm assuming you ever rated an office. Apologies if you'll be reporting to them from your cubicle and an office was just a wet dream for you.

I agree that is what you believe. Please do not send me more pms, dont post my pms and dont try to summarise them.
You say that, yet you were the first to PM me and keep sending me PMs. I've no particular interest in talking to you, if you want to stop, then, you know, stop. KWAZY!
I realise i cannot have a conversation with you and i regret not noticing this a few pages ago. Feel free to say you "won" or that i am giving up.
Winning is such a childish concept, you really should move past that and develop more mature attitudes. I just hope you learned somthing by the time you finally, reluctantly agreed with my inital points. I know I did.
i will still try to clear up misunderstanding on the physics and if there are some reading this thread who can tell me what your point was i would be happy to hear it, i really would.
Let me know when (not if) you need help with that. Just as a recommendation, you shouldn't trust anyone claiming to have a physics degree that hasn't heard of basic physics theorems.
If you want to know my point, I would suggest re-reading all the things you incorrectly claimed I didn't say (but did) and actually, you know, read them. Then google them and then ask someone who knows what that means and then ask that person for help. I have kids to mentor, I can't mentor you as well.

Well it look like AG Eric Holder is finally stepping down.
by tootired2care inhttp://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/09/25/351363171/eric-holder-to-step-down-as-attorney-general.
happy day - our incompetent race baiting ag who refuses to actually do his job, and prosecute high crimes right under his down in the irs is finally stepping down.
good riddance!.

I would comment on this hilarious train wreck of a thread, but I have to go volunteer at the local animal shelter.

Viv, i really dont think you can tell the difference between what you want people to have said and what they say.
You think a lot of things. Evidence shows that's in no way associated with reality. Sucks for you, eh?

Of course the velocity of the falling object is at maximum at the center, like a pendulum which is falling too, just not as deep as THROUGH the center, but once ALL the potential energy of the falling object is converted into heat by friction, that maximum velocity is zero.
Again, what friction? If you are talking about air, you are not talking about a hollow sphere and everything you say is completely off. You've all your work ahead of you.

Viv, i am happy to observe you do not violate the posting guidelines by posting pms
Of course I don't. Thanks for noticing!
however i wish you had not done so by continuing to misrepresent and make things up.
If there is something you think I made up, please address that specifically. Please note that doing so will be considered by me to be permission to post any parts of any PM you have sent me. Do you wish to proceed with your claim that I made up something you said?
You are free to believe you are right and i am wrong and i agree this conversation properly wont change your mind.
Again you are wrong. I said earlier I learned something and changed my mind. Do try to keep up, dear. This is the third time you've been wrong wrong regarding your claims about what I've said.
So, I will now admit to being wrong a fourth time. It took less than 10 posts before you were saying the exact same thing I was. Congratulations on learning somthing. It's a wonderful feeling.
I've no idea why you would thing you being wrong so often would change my mind. Strange, indeed.
