  Who or What is the Holy Spirit?

  tradition within christianity has long been that any time the phrases holy spirit, holy ghost, or spirit of godare used in the bible (especially in the new testament), it always refers to the mysterious third divine person of the trinity, who is fully god, co-equal to the father and son, yet somehow distinct.. i want to present a simplified alternative view: let the context determine the meaning!.

  (one thing to keep in mind is that the meaning of the bible words used for spirit basically is unseen force or invisible presence.).

  After reading a book of Dr. Walter Weber I remembered this thread about "Spirit'". I conclude that "Spirit" is a very appropriate term for the human being in its entire spiritual dimension. This is basis for further thoughs about biblical and religious applications of the term spirit.

  Until anyone can define spirit in a way that isn't simply metaphor for something else, this is the equivalent of arguing whether or not Spiderman can beat up Thor, except we have evidence for Spiderman and Thor.

  Your argument for basis for thought is nonsense.

  I'm sure somewhere about something you are. Broken clock, blind squirrel, etc. But not about this. As I said, even assuming you were, you would just be complaining about something you claim is normal and then pretending to know things you don't. Not a very convincing reason to believe you're either a clock or a squirrel.

  BTW, putting letters in bold only makes you wrong in bold.

  People believe they know all sorts of things. You've already shown that in your complaint, that you believe you know things you don't.

  Within guidelines of this forum wannaexit (and you and me, and everyone else here!) does have purview to share opinions, including a recommendation that the group should move on for whatever.

  Congratulations on stating the obvious. Next you can perhaps tell me how Obama is president in very serious bold letters.

  wannaexit shared an opinion. You did too. One's no more an attempt to "have authority" than the other. Both are completely normal and acceptable.

  Wrong. And even if you were right, the net of this is you complaining over nothing and pretending to know things you don't. Congratulation, I guess?

  wannaexit did not try to have authority where she/he has none. wannaexit did no more than share an opinion. Folks have them. Get used to folks sharing them. Otherwise you'll forever find yourself annoyed and attempting to 'call out' behavior that is perfectly normal and acceptable.
  "If ...then stop doing that"? Oh dear! Is that an attempt to have authority where you have none?

  Of course it's not an attempt. Wanna exit offered her opinion, unsolicited, to tell the entire group what to do. In response she got an answer. She didn't like the answer, she was given free and accurate advice on how to avoid not liking the consequence of her actions.

  As far as what "getting used" to things, I am used to people making unfounded and wrong assumptions, like whether or not I am annoyed. You've done nothing more than be utterly ordinary in not knowing what you don't know and thinking you do.
